haha...I got a question here. Do you read dictionary? Do you think by reading dictionary everyday can help you improve English and vocabulary? Seriously, i can't read a dictionary. I will be bored to death. Even if i did read dictionary, it seem no help for me, i will forget all the meaning that i have learn in a few week times. LOL!!!

Well, in order to learn the meaning of a word solidly, it's best to practice using it~! If you're too bored to read a dictionary to learn words, I recommend signing up to dictonary.com's "word of the day." Basically, they send you a new word in the email everyday, including its definition, origins, and example sentences.

yes it can espeecially if it is that big, meaning you have a wide dictionary. i read a lot and there are times that i get curious with some deep words or some familiar words that i cannot recall its meaning. i have a mini dictionary and i always put it in my bed beside my pillow for me to grab it easily everytime i have to.

We used the dictionary at work as a diversion. We pick five words (non names) at random, and have to use them throughout the day. If you could use all of them in a coherent sentence (at the end of the day), then the last person out on Friday (the one who didn't make a sentence) buys donuts for the office. It could get quite funny...

I read dictionary but not everyday cause I think read dictionary is boring.I better to use digital dictionary than book cause I just write down the letter so the meaning has come.I improved my vocabulary by watching movies or listening music..Maybe you should try it cause you will not be bored and it trains your ears too...

Then dont! Just read books - effect is the same! Dictionaries are not made for reading through like a novel anyway!

I think the best way to learn and increase your ocabulary is to interact with ither human beings, you then have the context of the word and it is easier to apprehend rather than reading the word alone, it has more meaning if spoken and is easie to take on board and remember.
