discussion. Funny things happen, which can get you fired or get a laugh and relax co-workers. This is my story: In 1970 I was working a the child care center when I lived on OKINAWA, Japan. The center was fixing up the baby's sleep area; I was new on the job. I called the fire department to find out if we were to use fire retardant fabric for curtains, which was a new fabric at the time. They spoke Japanese-I spoke English. They answered the question as well as they could, then I thought of another question and called back. A few moments later I heard a faint siren sound. As it approached and got louder I realized my questions weren't fully understood just as their answers weren't. They sent THREE EXTREMELY LARGE fire trucks to put out a fire. Was my face red? We all laughed and then I had to explain what happened to the child care director. As difficult as it was to tell it was finally all smoothed out. I still chuckle at that. Do you have a real life funny story of your job?
