Clearing the air about non-vaccinating families

When reading through some discussions, I've noticed a few misconceptions. I don't want to change anyones mind or start a debate, I just want to list some facts.
The main one is that kids in the United States can't go to school without being vaccinated. This is not true. You can get medical (some kids are allergic or have had reactions), religious (we claim this because of aborted fetal cells in some vaccines), or philosophical exemptions. They are listed by state at www.vaccinetruth.com
Another one is that we don't vaccinate because we are piggybacking off vaccinated children or that we don't because we think diseases have been erradicated. I know that diseases still exist, I just feel that some of them aren't as threatening as it's made out to be, like chicken pox and I also know that no vaccine is 100% effective, so you don't have full protection. I also think our advances in nutrition and sanitation have helped us overcome diseases, we don't dump poop into the street anymore and we are able to figure out what we need to eat to stay healthy. Many adults have their children vaccinated for everything but don't get booster shots themselves-that's also something to look into. You can read stories about reactions from vaccines at www.thinktwice.com you can find reported reactions from vaccines at http://www.medalerts.org/vaersdb/index.html
Another one is that we'll get reported, that it's against the law. It's not against the law, if someone knocks on my door to say I'm in trouble for it, I can simply state it's against my religion and they aren't allowed to question me any further.
Another one is that we don't vaccinate because of the autism theories. I do acknowledge that I am afraid of autism because we have family with it, but I believe it can be because of several factors, not just the vaccines.
Again, do not reply if you are just going to bash me, it's pointless and my mind has been made up as to what I'm doing anyways.

Great discussion! While my daughter has had all of her vaccinations so far with the exception of the chicken pox vaccine I wouldn't dare bash anyone who doesn't have their kids vaccinated. I think it is everyones personal choice for the well being of their children. If I had done more research before having my daughter vaccinated I may not have given her some of the vaccines. Once I started doing more research I was one of the parents that was also worried about whether my daughter would be able to go to school if she was not vaccinated. After doing my research I found that there are waivers for this. I think part of why people try to tell you your kids can't go to school if they are not vaccinated is to try to scare you into getting the vaccines.

My daughter choose not to vaccinate her children also. As she is a stay at home mom the kids are not in daycare settings where things are caught so readily. As my grandaughter has gotten older she is almost 5. They have gotten a few of them. My grandson is 3 and has no vaccinations. Thank goodness too, because at 18 months he started having seizures if he had gotten some of those vacinations it could have killed him. I think it is a parents right to choose when and if to vaccinate.

You might remember me. I use to always argue with you about this whole vaccination thing.
Well, now, I'm against vaccination and if I can get my husband to agree with me, then all will be fine.
ONe reason I'm not wanting to vaccinate is my son use to talk and do lots of things, but after his 15 month old shots, he changed and now does show signs of autism. I don't know if it was from the shots, but I did do my research like everyday for months on and I just can't find it in myself to get my kids vaccinated again.
But what I did find out is this...
Basically, some doctors are giving patients who choose not to vaccinate their children a form to sign created by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). This form varies somewhat from state to state but basically it is a total propaganda sheet about the alleged value of vaccines, the alleged "risk" of not vaccinating and, even worse, the parent who signs the form is falsely "admitting" that they are putting their children at risk.
Go to this link and read: http://www.vaclib.org/legal/donotsign.htm
I have a page up about my son and autism and my journey and one of the groups called "no shots for tots" showed me this because I plan on telling my sons doctor on his next visit that I refuse the shots, but I'm afriad now.
Any ideas?

I think that every family has the right to decide if they want to vaccinate their kids or not. Me I lean towards the vaccination side, just for prevention, but only the big ones. Measles, Rubella and those things. Chickenpox didn't kill me and I figure that my kids will live through it too if they get it. :) To each his own.

I found your discussion informative and interesting. Thank you, my friend for sharing it.....I knew that there were some people who do not have their children vaccinated but did not understand why....now I do.....I also agree that there is no 100% guarantee with any vaccination and that booster shots are equally important if you are going to utilize them!

Thank you awarding me with "best response".
About 14 years ago not...I entered into nursing school...they will not let you sign a waiver...I did not have my shot records...the docotor's office when I had gotten all of my childhood immunizations had burnt to the ground many years ago...at the age of 31, I had to get all of my shots again with the exception of the chicken pox which they were able to take a blood test for...did not even get to miss out on that needle either...LOL
Just a warning to all of the parent who do get their children vaccinated...put their records in a safe place and keep a copy for them...you never know when they might need them.....

We've been vaccinating our daughter, but after getting some information we are going to be more selective. Even before researching, I was already against the chickenpox and flu vaccines -- those diseases are only fatal for people with weakened immune systems, and my daughter is healthy as a horse. No problems here. I find it funny that people get all up in arms and upset when they hear that someone has chosen not to vaccinate -- what business is it of theirs? It doesn't hurt them one bit.

I know, people have called me lots of names (not here) but one of them is neglectful, I think I've researched more than the typical vaccinating family. I think no matter what you do, you have to look into what you are getting your child injected with.

You state your point commendably, with reasoned argument and valid facts. Personally, I chose to have my daughter vaccinated against everything offered as I feel that the risks in having the vaccine are outweighed by the risks associated with the various diseases.
The beauty is that we are all free to do what we think is best for our own children. There was a BIG scare here about the triple MMR vaccine and links to autism, but much of it was hyped up by journalists with absolutely no scientific training or background. I've seen people with measles and mumps and it's not pleasant. I can't imagine Rubella is a party either. I made that choice for my child, but respect your right to make a different choice for yours.

One of the thing you mentioned about the causes of diseases is insanity or filthy surroundings and sanity has increased outside your body so the germs are not there.but what about the inside of your body .people eat all kinds of junk foods and unhealthy things now a days all of them are suffering from constipation and there toxin or metabolic waste removing means are clogged that means their body is filled with filth that means germs will attack them .if filth is there it is the duty of germs to remove them.so instead of going for vaccination to prevent diseases have a healty life style eat healthy things and make your body clean if not filth ,no germs whether outside of your body or inside of your body.
i hope you continue your fight against the vaccination by let other s also know about the ill effects of vaccinatiojn .thank you.
