Have you had an abortion?

I want to hear stories from women that have had an abortion and how they feel about it. Do you regret it? Are you happy with your choice? Did it hurt? Also I have some questions for the would be dads. Did you pressure your girl to have an abortion? Did you not want her to have an abortion? How did you feel about it?

I would never, ever consider having an abortion no matter what. I just find it absolutely wrong. I just have a hard time seeing how you can kill an innocent baby. It didn't ask to be conceived. If that person didn't want to have a baby, then maybe they should have thought about using protection or abstinence. I have very strong views on this subject. The only reason I think that it's acceptable is if a woman has been raped. Otherwise, if you don't want your baby, have it and give it to a couple who really want a child more than anything and can't conceive. I used to have a friend who I found out later had at least 4 abortions in the span of 5 years. I just couldn't believe it when I found out. Just crazy!

At a church I used to attend we had a whole ministry for women who have had an abortion. I discovered that while abortions are viewed by society as an issue for young recklessness it actually has touched far more lives then most of us would realize. There were many women at my church that had opted for one when a pregnancy came too earlier in a marriage or too soon following the birth of a sibling. While many felt it was the absolute right thing to do for the family and the baby at the time, they find themselves wrecked with guilt down the road. It is definitely a topic that could use more discussion. Society could stand to educate themselves a little more on the topic and consider making it a little more acceptable to discuss. We might find that there would be fewer abortions if women were allowed to discuss it and not be jugded too quickly.

I agree. People should discuss it. That's great that your old church had a ministry for the women who have had abortions. Those women should tell others about their experience.
