Ironing tips PLEASE

May 8, 2007 1:12pm CST
I am getting really fed up with ironing t-shirts. It doesnt matter how hot I have the iron or how much water I spray on the shirt the creases just dont seem to come out properly. I iron the shirt and it looks fine on the board then when I lift it up it looks like an iron hasnt been anywhere near it! I would be grateful for any tips?

I'm not sure how attached you are to the act of ironing...but I can tell you how I get the wrinkles out of my shirt without ever touching an iron.... I use Downy Wrinkle release spray! I love this stuff. After my t-shirts, button downs, pants, or whatever come out of the dryer, I hang then on hangers. Then I take my trusty bottle of wrinkle release and give everything a good spray. After spraying I use my hand to smooth out any really stubborn wrinkles. Then I just let the items dry. I have had pretty good luck with this method. I never iron in the traditional sense, and I have found this this spray is safe for all types of fabrics.

It is heaven. In the US you can get it in any store that sells cleaning supplies. It's usually with the laundry supplies. Good Luck!

It's really hard to iron our clothes. I suggest that you follow some tips I have listed below: 1. Use a fabric softener after washing your clothes. 2. Do not dry your clothes by taking off the water by your hands. Just lift it up and hang them. 3. Use an ironing board that is with enough firm foam. 4. Spray water on affected areas only. I ope this tips will help you the next time you iron your shirts =)

Thank you for your response. I cant use a fabric softener in my washing machine - it just doesnt work for some reason.
