1. Burn Fat The opposite hormone to insulin is glucagons. Protein in the diet releases glucagons, which mobilizes stored glycogen in the liver and bloodstream allowing the muscles to burn fat, their preferred energy source. That is why when you burn more stored body fat, not only do you lose body fat, but you have more energy and endurance. 2. The Phenomenon of "Breaking The Seal" Have you ever asked yourself why, at a party, you can not urinate for hours, but once you go, you just keep on going? It's because the diuretic effect of alcohol is taking over by the time you seek relief. According to urologists, alcohol interferes with your body's secretion of antidiuretic hormone (ADH). Without this hormone, your body can't regulate urine output and drains more water than usual. Additionally, the longer it takes your liver to clear the alcohol, the stronger the diuretic effect will be. You'll feel the need as long as there's liquid in your bladder. In truth, you "broke the seal" when you opened the first can of the night.

I think that is very interesting so that is probably why some of the low carb diets work as they force so much protein and in turn release the glucagons. Let's hear it for protein. I need to concentrate on this and more vegetables and fruit. I eat way to much bread and other carbs.

So are you saying that the more protein you eat, the more fat you burn? Got any suggestions as to what foods will help with this?
