Why do people get old? Is it a disease?

I ve been so keen when it comes to human development. What mistify me is how a man grows up until he/ she is too old to do anything. What actually causes that?

Degrade on a cellular level, and technically speaking getting old is indeed a disease. Because of that there are quite a bunch of people trying to find a cure, and so far with test animals prospects are good. Certain types of worms have been capable of living 5 times as long in example with anti-aging treatment.
