Ok, scared out of my wits here!

My husband is due to take a flight out (with Air Kenya)to Tanszania tommorrow morning and just only two days ago, a plane from the same airlines crashed and there were no survivors. I'm really scared for him and only tonight he was telling me what to do if anything happens! I didn't even want to think about it and cried when he told me how much he loves me and my son! I can't sleep! :(

If he really needs to take the flight, then pray for him. Think positive. If you keep thinking that the plane is going to crash, it might just crash. And don't think about the plane not crashing - instead, give energy along the right route. Think that he will have a SAFE journey. Just focus on this positive thought and he will do fine.

Now that the first plane has crashed, it is not always the second will happen. In my opinion, it should be safe enough as the airlines would have taken precautions. Besides, your husband has already help you make plans should any untoward happen. Be positive. Pray hard for his safety. That is what I think you can do. Unless he can cancel his trip, that would be the best relief, I would think.

I know how you feel especially if a recent air disaster had just happened. Everytime I board a plane without my husband or vice versa, we talk about the what ifs. We are not avid flyers. I rather drive than fly...but sometimes, it is really necessary to board a plane. To make you feel better, check with the weather forecast. That is what I usually do. The sunnier the weather...it will be much better. I think the crashed days ago was due to bad weather. And praying helps a lot. Just tell yourself that fear is attacking you and that is not good, instead have hope and believe that everything will be allright and your husband will be safe. I will say prayers for your husband's safe trip.

I understand what you are feeling, maddysmommy. Try to stray your mind away from the negative thoughts. I once read a book about using our mind and spirit in a positive ways. I travel a lot by planes and have never encountered any problems. I think Air Kenya will be meticulously careful this time after the recent crashed. If you are a religious person: PRAY.

maybe some statistics will keep you from worrying. only 1 in 11 million figure in an airplane accident while the chance of being in an automobile accident is 1 in 5000. the disparity would ease your worries.

well if there is a recent plane crash there, i believe the saying is "fool me once shame on your, fool me twice shame on me" so they've already put out an extra safety measure for the plane rides
