What do you like to see on a cafe/coffee shop menu? I would like to get some ideas for my new business venture. I am starting up a cafe. It is at the front of our house. Still got things to do to get it up to standard, so will be a while till its open. Had it on hold for a while, but feel its time to get motivated with it again, and it will keep me busy.
I would really appreciate any ideas that you might have. Any recipes would be great too.

Congratulation with that.
If i went in the new cafe i will look the name on the menus, some name is attractive to me to try, and then the price.
New cafe with high price make us think twice to try.
And the most important is ingredient of the food, we need to know about that too.
Good luck

thanks for your response, angel. I think price is a very important thing to keep in mind when working out your menu. I will be trying to keep my prices low, so it appeals. I will give value for money. Ingredients are also important, i agree. So many people these days have alergies to things, so you need to be aware of it.
Best wishes to you

Rich fancy cakes. Real gourmet stuff. You could bake them yourself and freeze half and make sure you find ones that have a long life. I find them so hard to resist. A really big slice you can charge several dollars for. Cheesecakes are good if you have a fridge display cabinet. I know you can get premade stuff but deliveries to where you are might be a prob. And they're expensive. What about muffins, yummy rich ones like the ones with a chunk of Mars Bar inside. Or triple choc, or choc anything. LOL. I'm making myself hungry. Good luck with it.

Thanks for your response, tickle. It does make you hungry talking about it, doesnt it. I do have a display fridge, i got it not very long ago, as i like the idea of displaying what is available. Muffins with chunks of mars bar in them sound yummy. I will probably do cooking myself, as well as get some in. But the delivery side of things i have to check out more.
Best wishes to you

When I go to a cafe, I like to have a sandwich sometimes, or a nice piece of chocolate cake. I like cafes/coffee shops to have a variety of lunch foods (sandwiches etc) and desserts. Some days I am in the mood for lunch-type foods, other times I'm in the mood for desserts, but when I go into a cafe, I'm always in the mood for coffee.

Oh, how nice, Kay. Well, all-day breakfasts are quite popular, as well as toasties (toasted sandwiches), steak and kidney pie, bangers and mash, jacket potatoes with various fillings, various salads, quiche, soup with a nice crusty roll and butter, (tomato and basil, leek and stilton and parsnip are three of my favourites). Then you could do teas; a cream tea, carrot cake, chocolate cake, farmhouse fruit cake, coffee and walnut cake and lemon drizzle cake. mmmmmm
I could go on and on and on, but there's a few ideas. I'm sure others will boost them out. lol. I hope you manage to build a good menu and wish you much success with your new business venture. Brightest Blessings and all good wishes, my friend. x

Thanks for your response, darkwing. You have some wonderful ideas there. I havent had jacket potatoes with fillings for a long time, but i used to get them from the spud shops that i used to live near. They were always popular. I will be keeping myself busy getting things ready. It will take a while, but it will get there. We are going into winter, so soups will go well, too. Lemon drizzle cake sounds yummy, havent heard of it, so will look it up.
Best wishes to you, and hope you are having a wonderful mother's day.

wow, this is nice.. I'm happy for your new business there.. Having a cafe you would definitely want to have different sorts of drinks, light snacks and pastries but you could also offer meals, at least it might attract more customers. What kind of cafe will you be opening? those with computers? or purely a cafe like bo's? you might want to see what kind of foods people living in your area like so that you would know what possible clients would be looking for... You could also offer your very own specialty so that it may interest people, I'll be looking for recipes for you..

Hi maucute. Thanks for your response. Im not having an internet cafe, justone that sells coffee, drinks, light meals, cakes, sandwiches, etc. I hope to get something really interesting that will attract people. Have thought about maybe displaying some local arts or something as well. Hope it will go alright.
Best wishes to you
