How old were you when you had your first baby? Or how old will you be?

I was 3 months short of turning 29. A bit later than what I would have liked, but it wasn't my call, it was God's. How old were you? Or how old will you be?

I so second that statement. I knew i was 'missing' something when we didn't have him, but i didn't know what. But now that he's here with us, it's just the most pure and everlasting love...it's just amazing to comprehend sometimes.

I was 24 years old when I had my daughter, Emily. She just turned 19 a couple of months ago. She has a one year old son, Caleb. She had him 3 days before her 18th birthday.

How did it feel to have your baby have her own baby? I bet it was emotional. Thanks for sharing

It was very emotional. I am still emotional when I think about it. She should still be a baby...

She is still a baby, but things happen that make us grow and mature. I wish you, as a new grandma and your daughter as a new mommy the best wishes and luck ever. Thanks for sharing your story.

I was 20 years old when I had my first daugther Destiny, and I was 25 when I had my 2nd daugther Faith. None of my kids were planned but I couldn't imagine life without them never a dull moment.

Well I was 25 and that to me was ideal for me. Now I want another baby so my daughter will have someone to play with and share things with before I turn 30.I'm 27 now and my husband is almost 35 and he keeps wanting to put it off i don't want to wait that late,i feel he doesn't want to have another one because he feels that his son would get upset, but he's a child he doesn't determine what goes on in my marriage this is between me and my husband an adult matter. Am i wrong for feeling this way?

Sounds like his son NEEDS you to have another child to help him grow up learning that the world does not revolve around him.

I don't think you're wrong to feel this way. I think his son shouldn't play such a decisive roll in your marriage...but just my opinion

I was 17 when I had my first, 19 when I had my second and 37 when I had my third and last. From my experience, it was better having a child when I was older. I was better off financially and had more time and patience for a child.

WOW! that is a big age difference from your first ones to your last one. But i guess it worked for you guys. At 29 i am much more stable in my life than i was when i was in my early 20's, so i'm glad we had him now

Gosh, now that I think about it, I was only 16 when she was born and turned 17 5 months later! Her dad and I were highschool sweethearts. We were separated by his family when I got pregnant (his family forced us apart...of course it was all MY fault) but we reunited 9 years later and married.

What an awesome ending. I bet it was all YOUR fault, and he had nothing to do with it...lol. But really, what a wonderful ending. Best wishes in the future.

I married at the age of 27 and had my first baby two years later. The whole family of my husband’s side especial my mother in law was very happy as my hubby is the only son among his six sisters. By then a boy was added to my family and you could imagine how happy they were!

Hello there! I was 25 years old when I had my daughter. I had my second child, my son six years later. I got married when I was 22 so we waited a little while before having our first. I wish ours could have been closer together, but our daughter was born with a severe congenital heart problem and it spooked my husband. The first thing he said when we suspected I was pregnant again was "If you are pregnant I hope the baby doesn't have any health problems."

I don't want to have a baby, because I have to earn more and more money for him/her. Now I'm 27, it is not a good age to have a baby. But I'm afraid of loneliness. How lonely it is if my husband and I have no baby when we are old. Frankly, I love children. But I don't think that i can give a better life now. When I was a child, my family is very poor, so my classmates often laugh me about it. Do you know my feeling? But my parents love me very much. If I were a child, I was not ashamed of being poor. Every pair of couple want to give a better life especially they haven't a better one.

This is just my opinion - I don't think you are EVER financially ready to have a child, unless you're a multi millionaire like Donald Trump or someone like that. My husband and i waited (not by choice) to have children 8 years and it was great the first few years, but then we really started feeling an emptiness that wasn't fulfilled with material things, or vacations, or anything else. We were missing our 'family'. So if you asked ME if life would be lonely, i would say no, but i would say that it would be empty. Poverty plays a big roll, i'm sure, but love plays an even bigger roll in the child's life. You're right, every couple wants to give more than what they had growing up to their children, but that also means more LOVE. I don't think you should judge your situation by how much he or she will cost, but how much you want or need a family of your own. I wish you the best.

I had my first at 19 and I just had my third, im 25. Im glad I had my kids young my hubby and I will get to enjoy life later on. Although sometimes its tough all of our friends have no children so they go out and do things and vacation often and we cant do that right now. But the way I look at it is we;ll be able to do it later.

We were married for 8 years before having this lo, and we did all of that, but we needed to have a lo in our family, it was time. And we may not have the 'time' to go out on long vacations, or whatnot, but we did that while we were together and younger.

I am 25 year-old when I had my first baby. When I was younger and even when I had no boyfriend yet, I really planned on having a baby at an earlier age in between 23-26. I dont know the reason why but I really wished of having a baby as soon as I can. Thank God, He granted me my wish on time.

I always 'planned' on having my first baby by age 25. You know (in my mind), not young, not too old. But things didn't work out that way.

I was 24 when I had my first baby. I wasn't really too young, nor too old. I believe there is no really clear-cut age requirement as to when to have a baby, as long as you are emotionally mature to be able to handle the responsibilities. You should also be financially stable, because having a baby is really costly - from prenatal to postnatal. I also would like to add that when you get to have your own child, it completes your being a woman. It fulfills the essence of womanhood.

I don't think there's a clear cut age to have children, but I was 'planning' to have children by age 25, just something that stuck in m mind. And you're right, having your own child completes me as a woman. Even if we don't have any more children, my baby is all my dreams come true.
