Publicly declaring what you've rated a response...

Recently i've come across a few discussions where the poster of the discussion has responded by writing a '+' or '-' next to the response. I do wish they wouldn't do this, I don't care what I receive and I do think that this should remain private. What do y'all think of this new trend that seems to have started. Like it or not?

Well, I haven't seen anyone doing that; but....as I do quite frequently when the topic is a good one, I will let the person that started the discussion know, "Plus for your Discussion", just as I am doing now. I think a lot of folks don't think to rate the discussions themselves, and I always make that statement in effort to get others to start rating them as well....I ramble on ~Donna

I'll let the person know by saying great discussion, but I rate most people positive anyway - but privately! I don't see the need to actually type in a "+" or whatever into my response! Thanks for responding mate! lol

I really do not have a probelm with that. I have alote of wonderful friends here, and each one of them has his own way of showing appreciation to my discusstions and others. It does not bother me, but i appreciate the fact that this person wanted to show me how much he appreciated my response. Why does it bother you so much?

Hi there! I really don't know why it bothers me. Perhaps it's when i'm trawling through the responses and I see all the silly '+' and '-' replies that seem totally useless to me. I can't explain it really, but I just seem to find it irritating for some reason. Thanks for your views on this and i'm glad it doesn't bother you! lol

I think that if it was the intention of myLot for us to be able to see the rating given to us by each individual...then they would have made that a public thing....I like the way the rating system seems to work...I can see my rating easily by the publicized star with the rating inside plus, I can put my mouse over it, and see my rating out of 100....this works fine for me. I see no reason for a person to display their rating in their response, my friend.

Hi Tina - I agree with you. No need to declare whether you've rated the response positive or negative. Thanks for your views mate! lol
