Soros is an amazing genious, especially in the world of high-finance. He skillfully managed to make $1 billion for himself when the British pound collapsed. He is also a great philanthropist who does more than just give out money to endowments. He actively supports open societies in parts of the world which are very closed. You have to admire a man like Soros. He was born a Hungarian Jew, survived the Nazi era and went on to make himself and quite a few others rich through learning how to play financial markets.
