what do you take, and what's your opinion about it? i tried 5 other anti-d's before trying the one i'm on now, which is cymbalta. i liked it for the first 6 months, but now i think it's starting to not work as well. i went through this with the others, too. they would work for a while and then just stop working. i wish i could find one that keeps working! i'm being treated for ptsd, agoraphobia, ocd and depression. and you?

I have bi-polar disorder, and litium combined with effexor has been part of my daily "med coctail" for over 10 years, and I'm just starting to wonder if change is in orderfor me too. Before finding effexor, I went though the same trials as you, trying several different meds before I came across the "right" one (or combination) for me. My medication has required adjustments throughout the years, but has been effective. Is it perhpas that your's needs to be adjusted, or something "added" to your regime? It is quite possible that you simply require a new medication of course, but don't shy away from "playing with the dosage" (under doctor's orders, of course) if you think it may help.

Effexor and lithium have, over time allowed me to get beyond that "not depressed, but just not happy either" feeling you're experiencing, and actually feel happy again. Mind you, I'm on more than just those two medications...I'd be more than willing to share if you want me to, but I'd rather "myLot mail" that info to you. (Some poeple get a little weirded out or are not as accepting.)

yah, i'd really like to know what you feel has helped you. my shrink is really good at her job but we're both getting kind of frustrated with my situation - not me at all, just the fact that we can't seem to find anything that really works. i'm new at this mylot thing, how do we email each other?

I just posted this same question. I take Lexapro at night, for anxiety, and i take Ritalin for my ADHD (which is what sends me into depressive episodes).

I was diagnosed over 6 years ago with depression and have been taking Zoloft during that time frame. I notice a little bit of a difference when taking it, but I've noticed that it doesn't work as well as it did when I first started on it...which is pretty frustrating.

I suffer from anxiet y and depression. I have been on almost everything. To name a few: welbrutrin, zoloft, cymbalta (made me super anxious), prozac, lezapro, paxil - you get the point. Right now I am on lexapro. Its ok, it has made me gain a little weight. All of them have made me able to deal. They have not made me feel "better". I am starting to think nothing will. Hope this helps

I used to take zoloft. I wish I had the money to go back on it especially during the holidays... that helped me with my anxiety.. I just can not stand the holidays. - DNatureofDTrain
