I tore the ligaments on 28 April 2007 in my left foot while playing with my son and his new puppy. It was first in a type of cast and stuff and I was not allowed to walk on my foot. So I was hopping around on crutches all week. On Friday, 04 May I went back to the hospital and they did a stress test on the ankle (which I might add is very painful) and now my foot is in a "moon boot". They said I could walk on it, but it is not feeling very good at all. Is this moon boot going to help after 6 weeks of wearing it? I have never had this happen to me before and I was just wondering if anybody knows how great the success of recovery is in such cases...???Please Help!!!

Hi well I have been lucky that I have never had to experience any of this but due to my husband working in a hospital he says that the moon boot is so that you can walk on it so that you do not have to use the crutches, and that it should be ok within 6 weeks.

Kathy thank you so much for that response! It gives me great comfort to know that although my foot is killing me with the pain now that it will get better... So what does your husband do in a hospital..? I find it very fasinating that he works in a hospital. I do not know anybody that works in one... I suppose that is why...
