I feel such an idiot now, I raced out of the house to an appointment at 10.30am, found a parking space, ran down the road to the office, dashed in and apologies for being late, only to be told that my appointment was for TOMORROW. D'uh. I was totally convinced that today was Thursday and that I had missed my appointment. I mumbled an apology and left the building, saying I would be back tomorrow morning, but boy was my face red.
Have you guys ever done that? Got your days mixed up? Gone tearing off to some place only to find it was the wrong day?

Been there, done that! I went to work one day thinking it was Wed. and it was only Tuesday. It seems if the kids have a day off of school, or my hubby has an extra day off of work, it throws me off and my days get mixed up.

Hello, recycledgoth, sometimes i do get days mixed up but luckily i have not turned up in the wrong place or at the wrong time.
Luckily, you were there one day earlier,it would be worse if you were there one day after the appointment,it would be even more embarassing.
So male sure the appointment time then.:)
Good luck.

Oh my days lol. No you are not the only one lol. I did one for a doc's appointment that I ended up going one week early lol. How embarrassing was that? I know exactly how much of a div you are feeling at the moment, but rest with the plain fact that you are not the only one that lost a few of your marbles lol. Join the club..

My embarrassment happened last week. My daughter had an appointment to see her cardiologist to get her pacemaker checked. I had compleyely forgot until his nurse called to remind me. Mind you her cariologist is a little over two hours away from our home. I explained what happened and the nurse told me to go ahead and come she would find a way for the doctor to go ahead and see her. He waited an hour after office hours to see my daughter. We took him to dinner to say thank you. I won't forget again.

Oh poor RG! Sounds like a lot of fuss and bother!
I have (I am so embarassed) not been aware it was a school holiday and brought my children into school. Not only was I embarassed just for making such a silly mistake, but my kids thought I was such a numbskull, and were so annoyed for being dragged unnecisarily from bed. OOPS!

I did that once with a doctors appt. I went in and sat down and they were really busy, but finally after about an hour I ask the receptionist how much longer it was going to be and she looked at the book and said she didn't have me down for that day. I felt so dumb, my appt was for the next day. Fortunately, they went on and took me that day since I was there.

No I haven't done that but I did go into work on a holiday Monday. Only the security guard saw me and when he asked why I was there I looked at him as if he was crazy and told him because I work here. Needless to say the next day everyone asked what day it was. The darn guard had told everyone. LOL

What an idiot I was yesterday, went to go do laundry, put all the clothes into the big machine, realized I needed more quarters so I went to the quarter machine. When I returned I put in the 3.75 cents, soap, downey and the machine started. I sat down and a friend of mine walked over to check on the machine for me and realized I put the money and soap in the machine next to the one that had my clothes, and this machine I was using was empty. I washed nothing. What an idiot!!!

Hahaha oh dear!! I guess at least you werent late in the end lol. I have on many occasion leaped out of bed thinking i was late but ive never made it out the front door before realising. Just last morning i looked at my watch sideways half a sleep and thought it said 12.20 and i had to be in work for 12. Once i was dressed and ready to dash out the door i reased i had looked at it wrong and it actually said 9.10am. At least i got up i guess!

I had a similar experience and felt just as brain farty lol. It did turn out for the best though! While I was pregnant with my daughter I had an appointment with the Doc at 2 pm so I thought! I got called in to the Office and the Doc said "Oh your early!" I looked at him confused and asked "what do you mean?" because the receptionist never said anything and like I said I could have sworn it was at 2. Anyhoo the Doc then said " Your appointment is at 4, but it's ok I have time because my last appointment cancelled." Which actually quite shocked me because normally you have to wait and wait and wait for a Doctor. Anyhoo, as we were just finishing up my appointment the receptionist Knocked on the door, apologized for interupting and said that he had an emergency downstairs in labour and delivery and he needed to go NOW! The Doc then told the receptionist once he got downstairs and knew what the situation was he'd let her know how long to tell his other patients he would be. So my appointment was at 4 but if he was that delayed who knows I might not have gotten in till 5 or possibly later.

yep - quite a few times actually! Did it a couple of months ago with a parent meeting at Niamhs school except I went on the day I thought it was - I just had gotten the wrong day in my head - the worst thing is I couldn't make the meeting the next night and it had been arranged for weeks! xxx

lol. Probably I have been an idiot before but couldnt recall the incident. Anyway, I wont call that an idiot act but merely forgetfulness. I have a friend who was so forgetful. She and husband went to a wedding party only to find that the party was held the day before. It was a huge embarrassment for them but since it was a family wedding, it, they still get to eat the wedding cake though. lol. I hope you wont forget to attend your appointment tomorrow.

I am an idiot almost all of the time and I just live with it. I forgot my appointment with the college councillor this morning and I felt like an idiot for forgetting about it.

I have at least one good moment of stupidity per day. Just early this morning (I've not gone to bed yet at 4:35 Am, so some might say last night--around 12:30 or 1:00) I attached my cell phone to my charger while talking to my girlfriend, and couldn't understand why my phone cut me off. I called her back, and heard that all too familiar beeping sound telling me that my phone was running out of charge. I was mystified for a few moments until I followed my phone chargers cord to its very end and saw that it wasn't plugged in. Sigh. Yay me.

You are not alone :)
Around three years ago, I was a freshman in law school. I was working and studying at the same time, so I made it a habit to study like a recluse in one of the corners of the library and avoided study groups with my classmates.
Then came exam time. I was preparing for my next exam the usual way in my usual spot without interruptions. I never noticed that the library was almost empty except for me. I thought my exam was going to be at 6, but it turns out that on that day, all exams started at 3:30.
I was quite relaxed going up until I noticed people going the opposite direction and talking about the answers to the exam that I had just missed. I nearly cried. Ran to the office and asked for a late exam only to be told that all the proctors had gone home and so I couldn't be accomodated. I had to write a letter to the dean and explain the sorry incident and my stupidity and promise not to do it again. My professor really couldn't believe I got the time mixed up, but he gave me a make-up exam anyway. Thank goodness!
