A few little Tips... / myLot

Here's a few little tips I have found for adding in different characters.. Will post more when I can remember them - LOL To type in (half) ½ - press and hold ALT-key and enter 0189 on the number keypad - that is to the right of the letters on the keyoards. To type in (quarter) ¼ - press and hold ALT-key and enter 0188 on the number keypad. To type in (3 quarters) ¾ - press and hold ALT-key and enter 0190 on the number keypad. There are others like trade mark ™ - © - ® - °C - °F - m² : Let me know if you want the keys and I will post here. :-) I don't know whether this will work or not if you have a notebook or laptop with out the number keypads, but it may be worth a try.

Thanks for the useful information Derek. It seems to work for me. ½ ¼ ¾ Yes I would love to here the other ones, like trade mark, copyright, Farenheit, Centigrade, etc.

OK Here it is ;-) Trade Mark - Hold ALT and press 0153 = ™ Registered Trade Mark - Hold ALT and press 0174 = ® Copyright - Hold ALT and press 0169 = © Farenheit - Hold ALT and press 0176 = ° then type in an F - °F Centigrade - Hold ALT and press 0176 ° then type in a C = °C Sqare - Hold ALT and press 0178 = ² (after a letter like say m²) Euro - Hold ALT and press 0128 = € Cent - Hold ALT and press 0162 = ¢ Plus and Minus - Hold ALT and press 0177 = ± Divide - Hold ALT and press 0247 = ÷ That's it I think.. :-)

Wow! I'm amazed of this given tips, they're very useful when it comes to typing of such. Thanks derek_a, this really serves a great help to some others who wants to know all these. Thanks once again for this post.

Glad they're useful. I have printed them out on some paper, laminated it and have it stuck on the wall with some bluetak. Here's some I just found taht may work on your keyboard... For accented letters... Hold CTR+ALT then a = á 0r e = é, í, ó, ú For capitals just add the shift key...

This is interesting. Most of these I have never heard of before. Seen some of them posted somewhere from time to time and wondered how people could do that while typing somewhere. But quite interest for sure. So ¾ + ¼ = 1. This is cool. I might copy this to my Email for future reference, or print it out to have.

Thanks for responding. I hope they will be of help to you. I have found that once I have used the keyboard shortcuts a few times, I get used to them, and don't reach for the mouse so much.
