Sunblock

Do you put sunblock on your kids everytime you go out? Even if you aren't going to a pool or a park? I put it on my daughter because she is always in the sun in the car. I want to do the best to protect her from the rays. My husband thinks it's silly, but I told him it won't seem so silly if she got skin cancer. So he shut up and let me do it. Thoughts?

We have tinted windows in the car, so if I'm just running to the store with him I don't put sunblock on him. The poor guy gets it all when we go out to play, sunblock and mosquito repellent. He cries but it's better than a burn and bites! I read somewhere that most of our sunburns and sun exposure happens when we were children.

Yeah it si something like you will be exposed to the most sunlight before you turn 18. It makes sense since we want our kids to go out to play.

During the summer months the only way my children step out the door for anything is for them to get their sunscreen on first. It doesn't matter to me what they are going out for or where to the have to have the sunscreen on. I don't think that I am being overprotective because I know of people who burn so easily. I don't want to take a chance with my children.

i often wonder the same thing. am i being overprotective? but, in the end, i sort of feel like, "better safe than sorry." i remember how awful it was when i was a kid and i'd get a sunburn. it's the worst. so, why not try to prevent it?
