Paris Hilton's lawyers have taken the first step to appeal her 45-day jail sentence. The 26-year-old socialite was ordered by a judge on Friday to report to count jail by June 5 for violating the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case. Hilton's lawyers filed a notice with the court indicating their intent to appeal on Friday. The document is required before a formal appeal can be lodged. The hotel heiress, who parlayed her party lifestyle into worldwide fame, said she believes the sentence was unfair. "I feel that I was treated unfairly and that sentence is both cruel and unwarranted and I don't deserve this, "Hilton told photographers assembled outside her home Saturday.

Yes, she should go to jail. If she wasnt famous she'd already be there. Normal everyday people dont get a month long delay before they start serving their sentence. They are taken from the court room to the jail cell. They wait in jail for the appeal process. She broke the law now do the time.

Lots of every day people keep from going to jail everyday. I'm thinking because she is in the spot light this would hinder someone of this category from getting out of jail sentence. If she goes to jail or not I'm sure she has learned a valuable lesson. Not to drive recklessly or drink and drive. A sentence alone would be scary for any woman.

I don't think she was drinking and driving at this point. She had already learned that lesson. I would think the scare of jail in itself would be enough and perhaps community service would be better for her.

I think it is time for celebrities to learn that their choices bring consequences. Throw her butt in jail. It is sad that the children of the county look up to these stars and kids see that the stars are above the law and are not punished for the no good deeds. If we dont start punishing them, our kids are never going to get the point that our choices do come with consequences
