Do You RETURN your GROCERY cart to the STORE when YOU are done SHOPPING??

The other day I was driving in the Walmart parking lot but had difficulties due to all the grocery carts scattered throughout the parking lot. So my question is do you return your grocery cart to the store or to the location that they are collected when you are done shopping or do you leave it scattered in the parking lot with the others?? Myself, I always return them to the location they are collected, although it may take a few extra steps I believe it is my effort to help the store I just shopped in. So what about you??

don't you think that's a little snobbish of you to be like that? we all have a job to do, it would be nice if someone would help make it at least a little easier... geeze...

9 times out of 10 i bring it back to the designated area, and there's several all through out the lots, the other one time, my hubby does it haha. Now they have coin carts, that way you are urged more to put it away, so in order to get the cart you put a quarter or loonie in, depending on where you are, and then when you put it back you get your money back. It's really a wonderful system when you think about it, it keeps the carts out of the way, and makes it easier on everyone all around. But even the few places that don't have coin operated carts, we still put them away, i get so ansy with things like that, the one time i didn't put my cart away a few years ago, it damn near hit a car, i was so upset i ran and put it away immediately.

At our local grocery store I return the cart to the store. At wal-mart I put my cart into the cart corral. My grandmother always said you must be pretty lazy not to return your cart. That has stuck with me my whole life. If I even think about ditching the cart in the parking lot I can here my grandmas voice in my head saying dont be lazy.

We have it down to a science my partner and I. We unload the stuff into the trunk and while he starts the car I return the cart to it's designated spot and by that time he has got the car and comes and picks me up. I didn't used to care that much until a friend's car was hit by a runaway cart and had a big ding in the door and no one to pay for it but herself! Now I rarely leave my cart in the parking lot abandoned. One day we were driving through a parking lot of a store where you have to put a loonie in the cart to use it and I saw an abandoned cart and jokingly mentioned it to my other half. He drove back and made me take the cart back for a quick buck! I hate it when you can't get a cart inside the store and when none are at the outside of the entrance. I figure it is the least I can do is return it to a spot where they are collected so others will find them without stressing out and the cart boys job will be a little easier. I always feel bad for them in a downpour, roaming the lot like lost souls.

Yes, I usually return them to the place they have in the parking lot for them. I always feel like I can use the extra excercise in walking. And, they are dangerous just out there rolling around the parking lots.

sometimes, I put the cart back where I got it..but lately, I guess I've just been lazy..I've been places where you had to get the cart from the parking lot and not where they keep them..but yeah, most of the time I don't even put it back..

Sure thing I do. I am a very considerate guy lol. Not to mention I want my $1 back. :P I do see inconsiderate people dumping the trolley near taxi stands or along the road. Shame on these people.

I always try to park close to a cart corral when I go to the store. I usually have my three children with me and hate to leave the children in the car so that I can search for a cart corral. It annoys me when people don't out their carts in the corral because I have had my car dinged a few times because of laziness. Its not that hard to do.

I usually do, otherwise I kinda feel guilty. The times that I try not to , my daughter is so kind to remind me because it's just so much fun pushing that thing half a mile across the parking lot to return it to it's designated space. lol.......great topic:)

9 times of 10 I return my grocery cart to the store when I end my shopping. And if I do shopping with my friends,we will return our grocery carts to the store. In my opinion,I think the customer should return the grocery cart to the store and moreover, the costumer should return the goods which they don't want to the shelf.

I agree with you about the customer returning goods back to the shelf where they got them. I have seen a lot of misplaced items that are there because of the customer.

Yes,people litter goods and their action makes the workers in the store involve into trouble. Some stores put on notice on the wall to persuade people return the goods to the shelf. And the store has to employ more workers to replace the goods.Myself always return the goods to the shelf.I don't want bother the worker in the store.:)

My partner and I take turns putting the shopping cart where it belongs. I wouldn't feel right if someone elses car had been damaged because of my laziness. Eventually prices go up at the grocery store because the store has had to payout money for cars that were damaged in their parking lot.

I always return the shopping cart once I have loaded my purchases into the car. I just hate all those carts being left in the parking lot. I dont know why people dont just take them back at least to the cart area. It is often hard to park your car because of all the carts that are in the parking lot. I always worry about the carts hitting my car and scratching it.

If I am at a dollar store or something that is not a huge place, yes I do usually either leave the buggy inside the store or I will at least drag it back to the store, at Walmart I try to find the nearest buggy return rack and put it there. I have come out too many times and had someone else's buggy run into my car and leave scratches and dings and scrapes on it, and it irritates me to no end. Great discussion!

I have to admit,I have NEVER returned my cart to the store but I have ALWAYS placed them in the buggy corral....I don't drive, myself but I can just imagine how frustrating that experience would have been

genarally speaking,I do not return the cart to the store, because every time I go to the store,I will buy so many things that I just can not bring them to home ,for they are too heavy.so I will use the cart as far as I can .but after seeing your words,I think I will return the cart to the store in the future.

yes, we must return the shopping cart where we have taken so that its will not be scatered everywhere. We must disciple our self that even its not ours we have to make it weel. When i was working in other country i am very surprise because when you get shopping cart you have to put money coins if you want to used the cart. And after you will used you have to put in the same place, and connect the cart to another cart and you can get your money back.So i think they do like that so that the cart will not scatered everywhere. And so that people can discipline their self doing thatThey have good idea of doing it.
