That seems impossible. You can at best refrain from smoking for a week. I have seen smokers go from bad to worse. If a good friend that stays with you through thick and thin, smoking may be considered the best friend. Smoking is a habit which stays with you for better or for worse.

Well whenever I say I'm going to quit, I seem to crave them more then ever. It is a terrible habit. I'm still trying to quit. I've heard that once you get passed three days, all the nicotine will be out of your body and then it is the habit that has to be controlled. So I'm working on it.

I have tried to quit several times. I have such a difficult time especially when someone else that I am in a relationship smokes too. My husband smokes and it makes it increasingly difficult to quit. He is going on deployment and I plan to try to quit again with the help of the nicotine patch. Then I can gradually taper off of the nicotine and eventually stop. I think that is the best way for me. I don't believe smoking is my friend, it is killing me.

The biggest challenge I'm facing right now.. I've been trying to quit several times but I always fail **sigh** I wish there's a cure for it, a medicine to take perhaps that will stop me from smoking. =(

Hi sukumar, I have been smoke free for almost 3 months now and I don't miss it at all. It is a stinky, filthy, disgusting habbit and I'm glad to be done with it. If you REALLY want to quit then you can, but if you say you do but you don't really honestly and truly want to then you won't succeed. That is just my opinion anyhow.

Smoking is a disgusting and vile habit. Yes, I smoked when I was a teen and then again for a few years in my 20's. I hated it, did it to control stress and nerves. The last time I quit over 20 years ago, I quit cold turkey and swore I would never do it again. i seen a few lunch patients in the hospital and I seena womnan with emphysema, i thought she was 60 or so and she was only 32. She had black teetha nd wrinkled leathery skin and she was on oxygen and in a lot of pain. I quit and am glad I did. Since I have watched both by mother in law and father in law die from cancer. He was on oxygen his last year and could barely breath even with it. She had a whole in her neck and every now and then would need a cig to control her nerves. Disgusting, filthy habit. And it made my eyes water and burn. I was and am allergic to it.

I am not a heavy smoker , usually I smoke one or two cigerrates in a day but still it is very difficult for me to quit it totally. It is a habit which I cannot leave , even if I try to leave it but whenever I am with my friends I will again feel like smokingYes we can consider smoking not a friend but an enemy which will never leave you and stays with you in all phases of life.

I never smoked in my entire life but its my request to all mylot people to stop it if they are indulged into such activities...its of no use for your health. It only harms not heals. And if you cant stop for some reason then please dont promote or offer to others because by doing this you are only insulting ones intelligence. Believe me or not but you really do this. Smoking is like a parasite...dont let it creep inside your body or else it will burn you from inside. It has been said by wikipedia that every third smoker in the world die because of this habit. And if you manage to escape through this then there is lung cancer always there to take you under its arms. Please stop this for good. Wish you all a happy health.

very hard but it's possible! I was a smoker, for about 10 years. but I don't smoke anymore. I never realized how stinking I was. after realizing that, I quit. but it took a few months for me to quit.

I quit almost 2 1/2 years ago after smoking for 7 years total and about 2 years of smoking at least one pack a day. It seems impossible, but once you do it you realize that you could have done it all along. you just really have to want it. After about one to two weeks, the physical part of the addiction goes away.

i used to smoke 40 a day at one point. when they went up so much (about £4 packet) i cut down to 20 then i was told i had oseophagus cancer (all clear now) and gave up that day. i have had a couple of drags since. i use EFT for any cravings or problems that i want to erase it is amazing.
