i saw a commercial for these things this morning-i thought it was pretty innovative.they're like gloves with some kind of brillo pad type stuff on them. looked like it saved quite a bit of the meat on the potato that usually gets peeled off. www.tatermitts.com

That looks like a fantastic idea...wonder if it REALLY works as well as it claims though--I used to have a f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c vegetable peeler--it was an oldie of my great-grandmother's so have no idea how old it could have been--ah, alas over the years somehow it became missing..I suspect my mom accidently threw it out..she was famous for doing that!!

it looked worth a try-if it's under $,i might get it. i had one of my grandmother's too it broke on me one day:( the ones i replaced it with never was as good. seemed like it rusted too easily.

Hmmmmmm ... these seem to be the ideal gloves to you when you want to shake hands with your worst enemy. Being that I like to bake my potatoes, & probably won't have much use for them. (This is assuming that you tried them on potatoes.)

I don't peel my taters. I just use a soft sponge on them to clean them getting the dirt and grime off them. I then will cut them into slices for frying or wedges for boiled taters or cubed for mashed taters. The skin has a lot of nutrients in them so I try to cook them with skin on. Looks like a net idea though. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

When I see something like this I feel like kicking myself as I say, "Why didn't I think of that?". It's a nice idea but I wonder how long they last.

LOL little gadgets like that make big money too. i would imagine til the brillo surface wears down.. probably 6 months to a year of constant use,i would think.

I have to admit that the Tatermitts look very impressive in that commercial, but I doubt that it will work that easily. If anyone here orders a pair, please post a review on this product. I'm one who looses a lot of the potato meat when I peel my potatoes, so this would be a great gadget if it really works. Thanks Lloyd

you're probably right-some commercials are exaggerated to a degree. if i see them in the store,i'll probably try them out if they're not too expensive.

Wow! What they are coming up with nowadays, lol! Yea,it would be real innovative if it worked but I have bought several things off tv commercials that didn't work. Hopefully it will make it's way to the stores and I can try it then. That way I woldn't have to worry about losing out on shipping and handling

they also have an..i guess the best way to put it is an "egg shucker".you put it over the egg,and it peels the shell right off, like the things they have for corn. now that one's kind of lazy in a way,but still a neat device.

Those are pretty cool looking. I wonder if they really work. They are kinda expensive right now,but I bet the price will come down.
