What to do when CD/DVD gets stuck in the tray?

Sometimes it happens to me. My DVD-ROM drive tray mechanism refuses to eject. I try a very simple trick. My tool is my hair pin! Also you can use a simple pin or anything that's thin and pointed. I insert the pin in the hole right below the tray and push it straight and slowly until the drive ejects. Of course I apply only in emergencies. Not always.

Eject the Tray - Just insert a pin in to the hole of optical drives to eject the tray.
Yes that is the perfect way to eject the tray of your Optical Drive, I can suggest your by the time when you insert the pin in the Drive hole if you push the eject button it will make less damage to the eject pully.

Definitely, it's the SOP or standard operating procedure when your cd or dvd got stuck on your cdrom drive or dvdrom drive. Most cdwriters or dvdwriters does have an emergency eject pin included inside the box. The purpose is as the name itself, to eject cd or dvd on the drive when the power is cut off due to electrical power outage or when the drive malfunctions.

It happened to me more than once. It's always my husband who helps me out with it because I am afraid to do some damage. I have hair pins so I will use that next time. Great tip Ronimas.
