I GOT A PAPER CUT ON MY TONGUE!!! OOOCH!!! That has never happened before. I had to mail out 148 business letters and I had to lick all of them. Well I got half way thru and I got a cut. How painful is that? Well needless to say I had to dab water the rest of the envelopes. What do you do?

Next time, don't be so cheap. go to the dollar store and buy a sponge and dampen it. It works like a charm, and you don't get paper cuts, or a horrible taste in your mouth. That's what we did when my daughter got married. Actually, we got a whole bag of those little triangle sponges for makeup application and used a couple of those. we were done 200 envelopes in a matter of 20 minutes.

If I am just doing one, I lick it, but as little as possible to seal it. If its more than one, I just go by the sink and get a little water on my fingers and seal the envelope that way.

OMG Kynni204. I could not imagine having to lick 148 business letters. Not only does it taste nasty but also because I can't imagine how bad a paper cut on your tongue hurts (you poor thing). We have envelope moistener at work and I will usually wet a paper towel and run it across the part of the envelope that needs to be licked at home. It always does the trick! Anyways, it's been 4 weeks since you've posted this discussion so I hope your tongue feels better now.
