what is your most memorable ride at the amusement park, carnival, fair grounds etc?I love to look at the Ferris Wheel, it is so massive and gentle looking - but!!!!
15 years ago my beloved and I decided to go on the very tall and exciting ferris wheel - not so exciting as to make us throw up or anything - pretty safe ride and all and we thought it would be romantic as well .....
then, we were on the very top - and lightening struck, quite close to us. wow! that was a fearsome moment. being that we were all the way up at the apex it was some time before the seats were emptied and it was our turn to be let off.
That would be my most harrowing experience on an amusement ride. And, although I clung to him, I am not sure it was the romantic experience I had envisioned...but an experience I will not soon forget, it is certain.
what is yours?

I remember going on a roller coaster when I was a teenager on a school trip. It was really scary and it threw me around so much that my glasses were thrown off and into the floor of the car, thank goodness! I've never been on one again!

It would have to be the time I went on a ride at an amusement part with my godson who was around six years old at the time. He wanted me to take him and of course, I couldn't say no. The ride started out okay as it just went around and around, but then it went around backwards and very fast. It was quite nauseating, but I didn't want to frighten him so I just acted like I was having a great time.

I have a massive fear of heights because my father took me on the ferris wheel at the Union City County Fair when I was very little. I remember it to this day and to this day it still sends chills down my spine. I remember it being a massive ferris wheel and I was so frightened when we reached the top and it froze. We sat there for so long! Swaying in the breeze. I remember crying and clinging to my dad because I thought I would fall out. I remember he was a very strong man and he hung on to me and told me everything was going to be alright and he wouldn't let anything happen to me. We finally came down and I calmed down, but I never got over my fear of heights.

I love the Scrambler and always have since I was ahcild. It is fun, yet doesn't give me a near heart attack. Two years ago I brought my kids and my god daughter to a big amusement park a dn I was the only adult with all of them. At one point I got everyone herded onto the Scrambler (which they were grumbling about because it didn't spin, go upside down, leave the ground or smell like vomit), and I was able to see ALL of their faces once it got going. They were filled with glee, and joy and laughing their heads off. We must have gone on that thing at least ten times that day and every time it was the same result.

My most memorable experience was actually May '06 when my boyfriend and I went to Universal Studios, in Orlando, Fl. we went on the Hulk rollacoaster and we were laughing, smiling, having a great time. We bought the picture that they take at the worst moments!! we both look so goofy we love it and it sits on our tv in the living room so we look at it everyday!!

My most memorable in a good way has to be the first time I rode on a roller coaster. About 12 years back a new amusement park called Esselworld opened here in town and it had these amazing roller coasters. It was quite a fun ride..scary too.

Before we had our children my husband and I went to the local carnival. We were among the first ones there that day, so we bought our tickets and rode three different rides in a row. All three rides were the kind that flip you upside down and sideways and we didn't bother to take a break in between, we just ran from one to the next since there weren't any lines. After getting off the third one we were both dizzy and nauseous, thank goodness neither of us threw up!

Well, my absolute favorite ride is the merry-go-round. Yes, I love sitting on the horse, going up and down, and round and round. Still brings tears and smiles to my face thinking about it! I'm so happy that my children are young enough to enjoy riding on it as well, so I can have that experience to go with them. (selfish me!)

I think my most memorable one was being on the ferris wheel with all my kids. It was really an experience to share it.

I remember my first time on the Matterhorn in Disneyland. It was frightening and exhilirating at the same time. The hairpin turns at breakneck speed almost made me lose my lunch more than once!

I actually have two that are tied for first place. The first is that I went on a roller coaster by myself when I was younger and as the coaster went upside down I felt my shoulder harness lift off of me and I thought that I was going to fall out and die. I was so happy to be back on the ground after that. The second one is the first time I ever rode a roller coaster is that I was so afraid that when the gate opened to let us onto the coaster I froze up and the gate closed and I was seperated from my aunt. The guy behind me picked me up and handed me to her and then I was on the ride. I've loved roller coasters ever since these two incidents. I'm a fruitloop as most people probably would never set foot on another roller coaster after this happened to them.
