My digital cable box is noisy..

Does your cable box make any noises? It's turned off, but the room i'm in is totally quiet and I hear it ticking or making some sort of strange noise. I have no idea why it is doing this! Does your cable box make any noises, or is my just weird?

My cable box is very quiet. I have no idea why it would make noise, especially when it is off.

It's the hard drive for the DVR box. When something is about to record it will power up the hard drive two minutes before it starts recording. Also around midnight it does something, not sure what but it does something.

mine does that when it's just shutoff-the box is cooling...but if it does that long after it's shutoff..that's definetly unusual
