i really hate it when i step on gums on the street...they stick to my shoes then to my pants...i find it difficult to remove them since they are so sticky...it is not very hard to rap th gum with paper and throw it into the trash bin...or if there are no bins, just put it in you bag...anyway it's covered with paper...why can't some people just do that? how about you....what do you think of people who throw bubble gum on the street?

It is rude and disrespectful. I hate litterbugs. I live next to two fast food restaurants and people are always throwing there trash in my yard. I hate that. I have 4 trash cans in the back plus there are trash cans at the fast food places. Some people are just lazy and inconsiderate. Chewing gum on hot asphalt during the summer can be very sticky and messy. If a child falls and this gets on the childs skin it can burn, expecially when the outdoor temp is 100 plus. And besides, it isn't sanitary.

it is so bad habit to throw chewing/bubble gum on the street . we should not throw anything on the stree especially the chewing/bubble gum and banana peel which will cause lots of troubles to other one on the street even a big problem and danger to old man . so if we see some one throw this kind of thing, we might could stop them.

I think it is terrible too! Why can't people just wait and throw it in a trash can when they see one?? It is worse than just throwing trash on the ground because it is so sticky and can make such a mess once you have stepped in it!!

Oh it is so annoying especially when we accidentally step on it. I had 2 sandals which had a bubble gum that cling on the side and I can't remove it. I dont chew bubble gum and if ever, it is very seldom that I chew, it's only when somebody has offered it to me and I cant say no. I wouldn't remove it from my mouth or throw it until I saw a cargabe bin.

Oh my gosh! This is too funny that you posted a discussion about this because I am really assinine about this issue too. In fact, I get so upset about this because, I think "come on people, do you want to track the gum that came out of anothers mouth into your house on your carpet?" UHH, that is one thing that really irritates me. One of my best friends has five young girls and she doesn't really think of this issue, but her girls now know how I feel about it and they know not throw it on the groudn at my house..lol My friend said when someone does throw their gum down or she sees some on the ground she thinks of me, because she knows how much I can't stand this. I also don't see why it is so hard for people to wrap the gum in paper/tissue or whatever they have available and dispose of it in a trash can. I am sure that maybe after they step in it and have to pry someone else's chewed up sticky gum off their carpet, maybe they will think the next time before they throw the gum on the sidewalk. Good discussion post.
