"Does familiarity breeds contempt?"
Well, you know this reminds me of a semi famous quote from history. Someone, I don't remember who, was talking to (I think) Winston Churchill, the wartime Prime Minister of England during WWII.
When this nameless person menitoned that "Familiarity breeds contempt."
Winston Churchill replied, "Without a certain degree of familarity, it is impossible to breed anything.".
