Thats the problem with amateur magicians, they wave their wand and make things right for themselves not thinking of the consequences. There is only a finite amount of fairy dust in the universe and every wave of the wand reduces it until there will be none left. Thats why these Harry Potter tales are so bad for the state of the magic kingdom, all these kids getting wands for birthdays and christmas and some of them have powers they dont realise, you know the type of thing...I wish I had an Xbox...I wish I could stay up late...I wish I could become president of the USA nad invade small countrys etc...etc... ;-)

LOL, didn't think of turning it into a Harry Potter type of story. Not sure I want to go down that route just yet. How would you get the magic wand to work its stuff, I thought that there was a code of practice amongst magicians not to adjust the countrys economic stability by creating an influx of money for personal gain!

You could invest it in the stockmarket, although there's no guarantee that you would make that high a profit in so little time. Still, you could get lucky. On the other hand, it might be considered pretty close to gambling (playing the market). Any other ideas out there?

Just had another idea: You could buy something at wholesale prices and then sell it at retail. It would need to be something lucrative that you could sell quickly.

Hmmm, buying $100 dollars of items at $1 each and selling at $10 would be quite difficult. What if you buy 10 items at $10 dollars and sell on at say $20 so that you double your money. That would take some serious work to get to $1000.

LOL, like that idea, you are really thinking about this aren't you. Would you pay your helpers though? Would eat into your profits a bit, also it requires a lot of forward planning, I was thinking more along of the lines of being given the $100 in the morning and having to have the $1000 dollars the next. Its a premise to a short story I am in the middle of where there are many people in this predicament over the course of a week.
