I think that one needs to look no further than the book "1984". This book was terrifying science fiction in its time. Now, we see that "Big Brother" really is all around us, and that George Orwell nailed it. Anytime there is a story on the news about cameras on the street corner or government spying on emails and phone calls, people always refer to it as "Orwellian."
