You are in my prayers. I would suggest a used book store in your area to find your own personal Bible or a local church. Both often give Bibles and can provide further insight and guidance in your Christian journey. God Bless you!

They typically do not charge for Bibles at either place. Check into it. Asking doesn't cost anything. Not asking costs much.

One reason why new Christians need their own Bibles is as a protection against false doctrines that are so prevalent both within and outside of Christianity. If you want, you can closely examine the other Bibles out there, and the New World Translation, and see the differences and similarities between the two. Same goes for, say, the Bible versus the Book Of Mormon and Doctrine Of Covenants, the Bible versus the Quran, etc. Be very much informed of anything that claims to be Christian, and any other religion for that matter, and line them up against the Bible, before signing on the dotted line. I am not attacking any one religion. What I am recommending is thorough knowledge before joining any one place, religion, or religious program. I wish I had done that. That would have prevented me from getting involved in a cult years ago, and all of the problems and heartaches that came with that. I was in a cult once in 1990. By the time I realized what was really going on, the damage had been done. Getting out was easier said than done. The cult had already married me off to a cult member. Line up all things against the Bible, and line up all Bibles together and thoroughly examine them. Ignorance is NOT bliss; it causes incredible pain and heartache. A lot of places claim to be Christian, so be careful.

I will pray for you. If you cannot get a bible within the next week, I will ask my church if we can help you out by either buying one for you, or maybe giving you one. I believe that word of God should not be held back just because you cannot buy one or borrow one. You let me know in the next couple of days if you can or cannot get you one and I will see what we can do. May God bless you with all his love. Just don't give up on him because he will make that way for you. God Bless You

If it would be any help I am willing to copy, paste, and send to you via email bits and pieces of Scripture. I could even type it myself word for word copying from my Bibles if need be. What do you think? This will take a while to do, though.

Of course I will pray for you. I was about your age when I was in the beginning of my way to learn to know our Creator and his purpose for mankind. I have continued to learn during 45 years and feel that there is still more and more to learn. But that is how it should be of course. You will find a Bible online here: http://www.watchtower.org/e/bible/index.htm If you visit any Kingdom Hall where you live, you can get a Bible for free and also literature that explains the Bible without paying anything. All literature there is financed by those who volunteer to give from their money and that makes it possibele to give for free to those who want to learn more about what the Bible teaches. You can also ask for a free Bible study. If you speak Spanish, the place is called Salon del Reino. You are welcome to write to me if you have some questions, just go to my profile and ask to be added to my friends. Then you can write to me privately and get my email address.

New Christian, please understand that the Watchtower's Bible is not like the regular Bibles out there. There are differences between the two Bibles. They are not the same thing. Watchtower, Kingdom Hall, New World Translation, are all under what is called the Jehovah's Witnesses. They have their own Bible, New World Translation, which is different from other Bibles. Their Bible, for instance, is not like my King James Bible, New Century Version, New Living Translation, Today's New International Version, etc. It is a Bible that is only for the Jehovah's Witnesses. I suggest you research the differences between the Jehovah's Witnesses and the rest of Christianity before you consider going with them.

One place you might wish to start in your research between the New World Translation (NWT) and the other Bibles is on John 1:1 (John chapter 1, verse 1). In the NWT, it says "...and the Word was a god." In my Holy Bible: Easy To Read Version, it says, "...and the Word was God." Is there a difference between "God" and "a god?" I'm not attacking the Jehovah's Witnesses. I am just quoting from their NWT, which you can easily access online just like many of the other Bibles out there. However, there are also many similarities between the Bibles. For instance, they both have the great Bible stories in there. Noah's ark and the flood is one example. As you find Bibles online from the Jehovah's Witnesses and biblegateway.com, please be sure to do your research before you decide who to go with. Same goes for LDS (Latter Day Saints) Scripture, which is also easily accessible at their official Web site of www.lds.org. If you have not already met the Latter Day Saints, who some people call Mormons, you probably will eventually. With so many Bibles and other holy books online, it's a lot easier now than ever before to research it all out.

Also I'm inviting you to come to my Christian network. http://godchasers.ning.com and find others who can help you on your quest to find the truth. We are all sinners transformed by the grace of God and no one is without sin, so feel free to be yourself here and watch the videos, listen to the music and learn the teachings.

As you start reading and learning about the Bible and Christianity, I would highly recommend that you start with the book of John. It gives a great, basic introduction to Christianity. From there, you might want to try reading the other Gospel books. The Gospels are Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. So, for you, after reading John, that would leave you with Matthew, Mark, and Luke. Romans is also a good book to read after finishing John. You can add me to your friends list and talk with me privately about all this, if you want. I just want to make sure you get started on a good path as you explore your new-found faith. Welcome to the family! :-)

Dear Confusedheart I know it's been hard to try something new without having a real guide book. I dunno if my prayer is good enough for you so I try to browse online and I found out about this site : http://www.blazinggrace.com/getconnected/newtestament/ They give out a hard copy of New Testament. Maybe it's not much but I'll try to keep searching for other sites which give out bibles for free. Not only that they also offer prayer request for you if you need it :) I hope this would help you find your way to GOD.
