What does it mean blue tooth?

Why it is used for something we already know? Where is the origin of this phrase? Wasn't any other word telling us the same?

I forgot why it is called Bluetooth. It is a kind of connection. But the connection area is about 10 metres. Usually it is available between mobile phones. This is the most common usage.
