Would you breastfeed a child that was not your own?

This is a question aimed at mothers who are or have been breatfeeding a baby. Would you feed a friend's child or anyone elses child other than your own?
To me it seems quite natural, I would have no problem with feeding someone else's baby and I would not mind a friend of mine feeding my baby. Obviously I wouldn't want a complete stranger doing it. I said this at a social gathering and everyone was horrified. Am I off the wall? What do you think.

Im not a mother but putting my place as a mum...
I guess i wouldn't do that for a total stranger or acquaitance...
But considering a close friend or someone i known with no doubt of her character...
I would...
I mean feeding a total stranger, tts totally weird...
But if its a good friend's child, they must have their difficulties for not doing so, if so, why not?

Yes, I had forgotten about antibodies but lets imagine the worst possible scenario where a baby suckles on a mother that has some communicable disease that is resistant, possibly something like herpes or HIV could this then be passed, if not to the new mother that feeds it, to another child suckling?

I would totally nurse a friend's baby, or if I adopted or fostered a baby. I would just pick up a random stranger's baby and nurse her, but if there were an emergency and there was a hungry baby that needed to be fed, I wouldn't hesitate to nurse that baby.
