In our house, getting the kids ready for school is like a military opperation. Its getting them up, in the shower, dressed, breakfast, and out the door. Lol, if we are quick they might get chance to play with the dog,
what about your house? any fixed routine?

Same old routine. Waking them up, making them drink milk, bath, wear uniform, finding pair of socks and make them wear, thrusting breakfast into their mouth along with taking care of the cooking part, as I am a working mother, solving their fights for my pencil, my pen etc, me first for bath and toilet etc. and then finally when they are ready, taking them to school, I tell you it is like performing a big event every day. I hope all parents face the same tune in the mornings. Sunday is really a boon to people like me.

well i guess children all over the world are same. i get up at 5am in the morning and start preparing for my 7yr old's school, like preparing breakfast and his tiffin, his dress, shoes, hot water for bath even his brush and paste. then waking him up at around 5:30 is another big battle. after that his bath, breakfast, dress and off he goes at 6am. that's our routine in the morn. being the only child of typical indian parents, he is way too pampered for his age. i know that but cant help it. i would like to do these for him till he allows me to, coz i know that he's growing so fast that very soon he will not allow me to touch his things!

I don't have any children to get ready for school (thank goodness) but I do have a boyfriend and a older son (18 years old) that I get up everyday and get ready for work. Pretty much the same routine as you, get them up dressed, make them a hot breakfast, packed them a lunch, make sure they have everything for work and send them out the door, the whole process takes about 45 minutes everyday and when all the hustle and bustle is gone and they are gone the house is so peaceful and quiet in the early mornings that I enjoy getting on myLot and answering some discussions.

5:45- stick bowl of cereal under child's nose and get her up to eat.
6:00 tell her to get up
6:05, tell her get up now
6:10- with loud voice, " Get out of that bed NOW!"
6:15- tell child in 5 minutes she will get a belt
6:20- yell," Here I come with the belt
6:21- she stirs and starts to get up
6:25- Tell her to hurry, She is still 'stretching'.
6:30- Tell her she needs to get dressed
6:35- 'Don't forget to brush your teeth and hair
6:35-6:44 argue about why she needs to brush
6:45- She is finally getting ready
6:50- Where are a pair of socks?
6:50- "Where are your shoes?"- "I don't know Mom"
6:50-6:55- Look for shoes.
6:55- Did you get your lunch, books, back pack?
7:00- "Wait Mom I forgot something!"
7:00-7:05 Wait for her to get it
7:05 We can finally go, 10 minutes later than what I would like to leave.
Every morning is different, but you get the picture. She is SLOW to rise, and I am the same way, so I can't complain much. I have tried all kinds of ideas to get her moving faster. I even had to use that belt once, She now moves when she thinks it will be used.
I hate mornings, but by the time we leave she is usually feeling awake and in a better mood.

Hi, Well mine isn't at school anymore she's at college so we don't have military operation anymore, although we used to when she was younger. This morning she had to wake me up as I couldn't get out of bed, another sleepless night I'm afraid lol! Brightest Blessings
