Do you say 'CHEESE' when somebody takes your photo??

It's a photographer's line to make the picture subject say 'cheese' when the shot is about to take place. However, I know very few people who actually say 'cheese' while his photo is being taken. I myself believe that it's unnecessary.. LOL How about you? Simple question: do you say 'cheese' when somebody takes your photo?

Thats a funny question. I guess I don't say cheese unless they tell me too..lol.it's like a reaction, the person taking the pictures says say cheeses and I do. If they don't I don't. ummm I never thought about that one before..lol

I also think this is quite a funny question. That's the reason why I had it posted here. Happy posting!!

yes, we have the tendency to follow instructions. when the photgrapher says sa 'cheese', the word is registered in our minds and the smile simply comes out even if we do not utter the word at all. but this is all for the better because, i have noticed myself that pictures come out with smiles and the results are much better.

Your right the pictures do tend to come out better.I find that when I am getting my picture takin I tend to have somewhat of a fake smile, I can never seem to have a really nice smile but when I look back at one that was taken not to long ago and I had to say cheese my smile looked much better :)

Though you think it's funny, I believe it's great that you could manage to still say that especially when you're in a good mood. I hope you could always say cheese on a photo take! Thanks for this response!

NO i would not do that anymore. I used to do that when i was a little kid but it only shows a little defromation with my smile. Id rather smile than say cheese

I'd do the same. The 'cheese' factor creates a deformation indeed.

Sometimes actually~ most of the time,I just pose naturally~ and smile is the most common case~ but in China, people say "qiezi" (much the same like "cheese" sound~) most of the time... so it all depend~

I got your point there. It really depends. Saying 'qiezi' wouldnt make you appear smiling though..

The only time I say cheese is when there really is cheese, or unless it is a photo of cheese. If I want a cheeseburger with extra cheese, I say "More cheese, please." I love cheese, but not when it comes to having my picture taken LOL

Nope never have. I just countdown so they know when I am going to snap it, because my friends are notorious blinkers.

"Notorious blinkers" - I love that description. I also have friends who are 'notorious' in taking pictures. They want to capture funny things.. LOL

we do not say cheese when somebody takes our photograph. but when someone gives the instruction for us to do it, our lips may be sealed, but our hearts and minds say the word. this will still bring smiles into our lips. the smiles which will make the photograph a better take and thus it is more desirable for us to have.
