Oh I would never, firtst of all Im not great with pain. I have friend swho have had one and advise against it. I had three baby girls naturally my biggest was 9.3 lb. my smallest 8.2 lbs, the recovery time was very quick within a week I was back to feeling normal after my last! I would be a horrible patient if I had to have a c section I cant stand the thought of being cut open they would HAVE to put me under because I would freak out!!

sanderson, they would not put you under if you have a section. they ended up straping me down to the table (both legs and both arms) i could not go anywhere or move anything but my head. i really felt like some kinda of mental patient!! oh and congrats on the safe deliveries i know with a baby that size it was alot of work.

i ended up haveing an emergincy section. To tell you the truth i do not see why any woman would chose to do that. I know that if i ever have another one i still want to give it a shot haveing it done naturaly. It was the worst and i missed out on a lot of my babys first week!! why would you want to choose to do that?

Exactly! I already had one and I would definately want to try for a VBAC for any future children. It's faster then a natural delivery but the healing time is much longer and the first 4 days are REALLY tough.

I didn't have a hard time bonding with my son but I felt really sad and upset with myself for not delivery naturally. I know this is going to sound stupid but I felt like less of a woman because of it. I was induced because of preeclampsia and in labor for 2 days. I also pushed for 1-1/2 hours before a c-section so I got to experience labor in all of it's glory but I just didn't get to push the kid out which is somewhat upsetting. It's 14 months later and i'm over it but I really felt bad in the beginning.

yeah, i really did miss out on alot of the first. it is also more difacult to bond when you can barely even stand the pain of holding them!!

I think it's a really selfish thing to do, I think Britney Spears had one so she wouldnt get stretch marks, she even had the baby like 2-3 weeks early I think. That is just plain stupid, why put your baby at risk if its not medically necessary. She's a dumb person. I think anyone else that does it is not looking out for the health of their babies

I really don't know why a person would choose to have a c-section. I know a lot of people do, though. I only have one son, and I had him naturally. He was born at 4:05 pm on Wednesday. By Friday afternoon, I was home doing whatever I needed to do. My mom and little sister came up when he was born. They left early Thursday morning, and got here early Friday afternoon. I went to the gate (we live in military housing) to meet them and everything. My husband drove, but I didn't want to miss it! I cooked supper that night without any problems, and was cleaning the house the next day. My recovery time was pretty short! If I had a c-section it probably would have been longer. And having a c-section doesn't really guarantee a much shorter delivery time or anything either. I was only in hard labor with my son for 4 hours, and only pushed for less than 30 minutes. That was after being induced, and most people say that without being induced, your labor progresses even faster! My son was born 8 lbs 10 oz, but didn't seem all that big to me. It was really pretty easy.

That sucks about being in labor for so long, and still having a c-section. But you still got a beautiful little guy out of the ordeal, so it was worth it! Thanks for the best response!

Lucky you! I was in labor for 2 days and I pushed for 1-1/2 hours before they brought me in for a c-section and my son was a whole pound smaller then your son. He was born at 7lbs 10oz.

I've had 2 c sections, but they were medically necessary. I wanted to try natural with my 2nd son, just to know that experience. But from what the doc said I can't have a baby that way. I'm too narrow, whatever that means. I've never had any probs with my c sections and 2 days later people had to tell me to take it easy. I actually heard c sections were less dangerous than a natural birth, but I don't know.

Here it is barely done, hardly any parent even thinks about it. Although in the states by now it is now considered abnormal to do it the normal way in certain cities if you take the most commonly performed as normal.

I had a c-section with my son but it was for medical reasons. I cannot understand why a woman would choose to do it otherwise.
