Did the thought of eating SUSHI once make you want to gag?

.....but now you LOVE it? I know of a person who at one time thought that eating sushi (raw fish) was vile. But now it's one of the great pleasures of his life. Can you relate to this? Sushi has exploded in popularity in America. It is estimated that there are 10,000 sushi bars/restaurants in the USA. It all started in Los Angeles in the mid to late 70's. It has not been documented, but some people claim that there are more sushi bars on Ventura Blvd (located in the San Fernando valley of Los Angeles) then in all of Tokyo. Is sushi popular in your country? How about you Americans who live in small towns? Any sushi bars? I was surprised to learn that there is a sushi bar in the Wal Mart in Plano, Texas. What are your thoughts?
