Lab torture to animals

I didn't want to post all the horrible things that I have read about lab test for "humans." It sickens me, the torture that these creatures must endure. I see NO reason at all for it. What is your opinion?

I myself hate this as well. But, to carry out a medical research, animal test seems the only way to improve the security to human being. If there could be any other ways, I believe nobody would like to take animal tests. Is there anything else which could be an animal substitute? I am afraid not. As today a living creature is still a black box to us so that we could not understand everything going on inside. We therefore can hardly make something functioning the same as an animal. Or can we take the medical measures without any animal tests? Sure if we are not afraid of catching cancer, killing the baby before born, or any other terrible things on us like these. I was once thinking if there is on another planet a higher creature who is smarter than us human being, they might come catch us to be their test animals.

It would be frightful to catch us and use us as a test animal, but, that is what humans do to our beloved creatures. It gets me so very upset. Why do they get allowed to do this?

Oh I so well aware of whats going on....and yes it is sickening...Gee and all in the name of "science"--what gets me...why do they experiment on animals in the first place to find miracle cures for human diseases? Animals physiology is completely different from humans...Not only have I seen many gruesome photos posted on websites, but I have watched the various videos on the PETA website..a friend of mine asked ..."How can you watch those?" Well it's like this...sometimes you watch something so horrible, and you do want to turn it off, but it's like you just can't BELIEVE what you're watching

I so agree with you. But, I cannot watch videos, or look at photo's, or I will fall apart. Knowing it is enough, and so inhumane.

I do not like hearing about animals being used in labs for testing and the abuse that they take. It is terrible to treat animals that way. They should be left alone to live their lives the way they want to. I do not like anything bad happening to animals as I love animals and feel they should be free to do what they want.

I agree, too bad the people in charge of hurting them do not have a heart.

I'll probably get boiled in oil for this, at least figuratively, but I support animal testing in some cases. Testing for makeup or shampooo is cruelty for no reason and I can't condone it, but I have MS and without research animals, there would be no developments towards a cure for me or others with debilitating diseases. My current treatment is no picnic, so I can't imagine that it was a lot of fun for the animals it was tested on before the FDA approved it for use on humans, but without it my life and the life of thousands or hundreds of thousands like me would be shorter and more crippling and more painful. Animal testing is horrible, but until the computer models can predict ever adverse reaction, it has to be done.

I think it is appaulling what these animals have to go through. I can see though why we do have to do it to them but I wish more thought and research went into it before hurting the animals and maybe less would be abused. Science always seems to cause damage to nature and yet this is just another way. I think that it should be exposed more often to people, everyday, til people are being active about it. http://www.api4animals.org/facts?p=435&more=1 Here is a little link for people to have a look at to get more information. I think as soon as my new bank card arrives I will sign up to donate money to a charity for this regulary.

It is done in the name of humanity and if it will help humans in any way at all then it isn't wrong in their eyes.

Yes it's disgusting and there is no need for it. I think the more people that are made aware of it..the more chance there is of stopping it.

I have mixed emotions about this. I am not sure if I want to know all the details. And I am not sure if the reasons for this are valid and serve some greater purpose. If this is required to find answers to save human lives, then it might be hard for me to argue against it. That doesn't mean I support it either. I think there is much we aren't told or don't know about these kind of things. It is one of those subjects that I don't know who to believe or who to trust. When you think about the outside animal world, it is often fight to survive and there is no end to one kind of animal killing another to survive. In the wilds, creatures of all kinds die everyday. But, I really don't know if that is comparable to what goes on when humans experiment with animals.

We have human guinea pigs so why not animal guinea pigs? Well, actually they perform lab tests on animals before practising it on humans - since human lives are more precious, expensive and protected by law. Some have selfish motivation, but enough are for developing e.g. medicine to cure diseases. This is enough reason, but if you feel human life = animal life, I can understand your strong reaction. I am not condoning anything - just giving you one of the official reasons. :P
