I hate flees!! It is that time of year again and my poor guy is just covered in them. We are bathing him about every other night or so to get rid of them since we don't have the extra cash at this sec to go get meds for him. It does seem to help but he still has them and I know he doesn't like it. I wish we could just get rid of this bug! They serve no pupose.

Dear Aj, I have not been back here long enuff to be able to cut & paste and my method takes a while to type (esp. since I am very slow at typing).. please check out "the kitten I just got has fleas" discussion. I have had cats for many years and have an inexpensive cure. It has served me well and may help you for only a very few dollars (both things can be bought for less than $8 or so for both).

the adult flea and what it looks like - fleas adult flea
Hey girly Its been awhile so I guess this will aply this summer although some really never get rid of fleas in winter. Walmart sells this stuff called gold. In the pet section. Its about eight dollars but works for nine months. Ive bought it and it really does work. Then just give the dog a bath in dawn dish soap. works everytime. Hope it works for you. Talk to ya later .

I have one cat and 2 chi's. To control fleas, I simply use a lice comb and flush the fleas and eggs down the drain. I usually only find about a dozen at the end of the day doing it this way. You have to make sure they're not in the house..Try vacuuming real good everyday for a week and then emptying the vacuum after each use. Hope this helps. I hate fleas too!

I know it's not the season for them now, but a few things I have heard and tried are using Dawn dishwashing liquid when you bathe your dogs. The Dawn kills the fleas. I don't think it does much for prevention, though. Something my mother has done for her poodle is apple cider vinegar in the bath water and whichever shampoo you prefer. At first, it smells a litte but once your pet is dry, it doesn't have that vinegar smell.
