Discussions Are A Mine Field Now

Ok, so I've been here ages now and I'm close to my big 5000 milestone, but it's like a carrot on the stick job, every time I get close, I keep losing points!
Responding to discussions on Mylot is becoming a minefield, whereas before I was happily replying to everything apart from Jokes because Jokes are not discussions
Now I'm finding that discussions are being pulled for no reason? Leaving me wondering what discussions I can answer?
Does anyone know because it seems to me that I have to think twice now before answering, sorry my good friends but lately I have started to get tired of Mylot due to the fact that they are as one of my good friends put it becoming 'over zealous'
If this continues it will put a lot of people off, myself included, what's the points spending quality time on discussions if you don't know they are going to be deleted?!
Anyone else starting to wonder what is going on?

Hi Wolfie. I know what you mean. I started a harmless discussion a few days ago and found i'd lost points shortly afterwards - guess I must've pi$$ed someone off for whatever reason.
I avoid discussions about war and religion like the plague as you can't honestly express your opinion without getting flamed or whatever. I don't know what's happening, perhaps the MLPD have some new gung-ho members! lol

I can understand where myLot deletes a discussion due to a violation of their policy, like talking badly about myLot or discussing your earnings, but I have not noticed if they are deleting other messages that are substantial, as far as I know I have not had any deleted as of yet (knock on wood) but yes, I would become concerned if they starting making our discussions be more like a writing assignment, I don't know about you, but I am NOT a writer, nor do I aspire to be one.

I'm not sure but a few days ago I had to reselect BR from some of my discussions because apparently some responses were deleted from these discussions, either the BR itself or just any response within the discussions. I didn't find anything that broke the rules in those particular topics so I didn't report anything to mylot but yet those responses were deleted from my topics so I had to reselect BR again. Plus I remember responding to a discussion about Karla Homolka many weeks ago. I was going to add comment to this topic and then found out it was deleted by mylot. I know it wasn't my topic but I wonder why it was deleted since it was talking about a criminal, not flaming against mylot or other members?

First I want to say Congrate on getting close to 5000. Ok for the discussion yeah I agree with you. It seems the jokes are getting deleted after I reply to them so I got where I don't go there much, there's no need to be sorry, as I have tried to think of a new discussion but it seems that someone beat me to it and don't want them to think I was copying them. I have noticed that today I am not getting much discussions from my friends list as I have the email notifications on. I sure hope things will be better and I am trying to think of something good to discuss here on mylot. I know I have lost some points last week and of course I was sad but the next day I found that my earnings were ok.

I haven't lost a lot of points but i have lost a few. it wont discourage me from responding to the ones i like. I just checked my discussions that I have made and so far they are all there so i must be doing something right lol. You worry to much sweetie xx

I am wondering why are these strange facts happening. I spend time to type good replies, and suddenly they get deleted. Why? I cannot understand, it seems like there isn't a reason.
Anyway, I am not going to leave MyLot. Giving Up is a gift that God didn't give me. :)

Wolfie strangely I was about to cry out to as I have just lost another 3 Points here I have lost 25 in one week
I just wish mylot would say why
I have not replied to jokes or anything like that so what is happening
Are they deleting people? Surely I have not replied to that many Discussions that are against the Guidelines? I have been very careful
So please mylot someone tell us what is going on please

Thanks Gabs, I have sent Mylot an email outlaying the problems and frustrations not only I but others are experiencing currently on Mylot and I am hoping that they will relay what discussions are getting deleted and more importantly WHY? Unless they are more forward with what is happening it will put people off and certainly I won't be spending the time I usually spend on Mylot from now on, there is no point, apart from my good friends, I just feel that there is NO freedom of speech here. Mylot used to be an exciting place, sadly I have become disullusioned with it now and I am not the only one it seems, I'll wait for a reply or at least Mylot sends out a reply to everyone.

My number would be much higher also but I keep loosing points.
Just when I think I am getting somewhere, my points drop again.
And I do not answer discussions that I think will be deleted either.
Jokes...like you said. Or recipes...one can not say much for a recipe someone shares either.
Nor do I respond with a one liner, so I know my responses re not getting deleted.
And i do not spam or cheat...so I am not doing anything to loose my responses to that either.
Like you, I spend a lot of time responding to discussions. And it is very frustrating to see my number drop because of all the effort I out into it is just deleted! Why?
And it has gotten to the point that I do not respond as much.
I just hope it does not get to the point that I do not respond at all.

Well my interest is waning fast and maybe it's a good thing, you know a message to stop me spending too much time on Mylot from now on, so it may be a blessing in disguise, I certainly don't have the same enjoyment that I used to, so what's the point? Thanks my good friend.

i know, by the time this reaches you you will be well past that 5000 mark. congratulations wolfie dear.
i agree with you. even i am scrupulous to choose the discussions i want to respond to. i think twice, thrice before actually deciding and that even goes ashtray at times!!
and if i may add to your "over zealous" thing, i have come across many users who are complaining of degradation in their star rating. i feel, mostly this has tio do with this "over zealous' activities around here.

I have only come across this from a few discussions one of my friends posts, as the puritans have been out to get him.
I don't see the point of mylot deleting discussions as this should be a site where freedom of speech is honoured and if you don't like some of the discussions, then make an adult decision to ignore them. Thats what I do as I know I will not agree with everything that is being posted.
I don't know why people come on this site if they are out to report some discussions or just rate everything as negative.
Don't give up though Wolfie, because then they have won, which we don't want to happen. Freedom of speech is something worth fighting for and hopefully if we all stick together the puritans will leave and not the decent, level headed bunch on this site.
As Wolfie Smith would say "Power To The People"!!!

Hun, I have lost loads of points over the past few days and I'm still trying to figure out why. Someone said it might be that they are getting close to payout time and are cleaning up and deleting old discussions.

you post what i thought. i try to get rid of my 680, but everytime i log in i am back to this number. i really dont know what to choose to reply now, because i seem to loose points. i dont know whats going on right now, the rating goes down, the points, some discussions i read are jealous questions, why do we get only few answwers and this and this member gets more than hundred and so on. i think its a bit scary here at this moment

thas wierd. maybe you should give a long good answer. Answer a discussion that you can come up with a long easy answer to.

The saying goes "so near yet so far". I have my points deducted and also my earnings deducted as well. It puzzled me at first, but I found out that there so many mylotters also in the same boat. So, I told myself to be extra careful about posting discussion and responding. Now, my question are, who iniated the deletion of some discussion? Is is mylot Admin or those member who put a minus rating or complain to mylot about certain discussion? There are so many member and tons of discussion and responses, how can mylot possible catch up with those who breaks the guidelines or discussion with unappropriate content?

I've only been on one discussion that got pulled and I could see why. The guy was sort of recruiting people and asking for their email addresses. I thought about reporting him myself but I guess somebody did it for me. I thought Mylot was right to pull the discussion and I didn't mind losing a point. I haven't had another incident like that but I've heard other people have. It's probably just the luck of the draw. You got caught on a few that were pulled at about the same time but I don't think it's that common and you probably won't see it happen again for a while. (I hope)

I know what you mean my Friend. But I just Mylot on regardless lol. I can't be bothered. I was a ten and now I am a nine and I am always seeing points and money taken off because some discussion or other has been deleted, so my time has been wasted. But it's nice people like you and the fact that at least Mylot DOES pay us something, that makes me keep coming back. It's the lovely friends I have made on here that give me some sanity in my, at this very moment, chaotic life. I come onto Mylot to relax and switch off, believe it or not.

MyLot admin seems to be doing more than the usual share of "housecleaning" these days... I "lost" nine of my count between going to bed last night and sitting down to check messages this morning.
I tend to be pretty careful to avoid jokes, political, religious and discussions that mostly whine about myLot earnings while promiting all manners of other "get rich quick schemes," and even then it seems unpredictable what's going on. Mostly what I find frustrating at the moment is the way several discussions I long since selected "best responses" for have shown up again as unresolved... that seems a bit strange, given that the person who ORIGINALLY get the "best" from me definitely whould NOT have been someone who'd have gotten kicked off the site.

I haven't noticed topics being deleted but a lot of people do complain about the quality of discussions so I suppose it's hard for mylot to keep everyone happy. Maybe the servers are getting too crowded and they need to make space or something who knows.

I think that quite a few people are feeling the same way sweets and it is vey hard as many of them have been here for a long time and have always enjoyed being a part of mylot! i just hope that someone new in admin is being as you say over zealous and that things start to settle down soon!

Something strange is going on, about 55 of my posts have disappeared. The money amount has not changed, so I'm not too upset about it yet, but yesterday I tried responding to one of my friends discussions about how to keep puppies from chewing stuff up, and I tried to post 5 different times, and it wouldn't take. I finally thought my post was there, but when I looked today it wasn't. I also tried to upload a photo to the discussion, and it wouldn't take. I tried several different photos and none of them worked, though I was able to upload to my profile. The site has been running very slow for the last two days. I feel like I'm wasting too much time here, and it's not worth the effort. I too am going to start being very picky about what I respond to. One of my friends had her discussion pulled, and was told that it had no value. I didn't like that at all. This is starting to be not much fun.
