First I noticed that I was testy over the slightest thing. Next came infrequent hot flashes and strange periods. Then the really hot flashes. The kind that says strip and sit in the snow. I also had sleep disturbence--waking in the middle of the night. Hot flashes in the night. I used soy supplements and they helped quite a bit. Thanks to them my family is still alive.

Some of my friends get hot flashes. Of course their monthly visitor does some strange things. One lady i know had hers for three months straight. Then it was gone for two then went back to a regular once a month for a while. Some have it sporadically Like once every two months for awhile. They get very emotional worse than pms sometimes.Aches and pains they never had before. Their bathroom habits change . They have to go more often. these are just some signs i have been told that they go through I'm sure there are more.

It took me many years to go through the change. It started before I even knew what was going on. I only realized years later that when I started having hot flashes it was probably the beginning of it. My hormones flipped out next. You know how you go crazy once a month? Well, for me, during this time, I was 10 times worse! More moody, more crazy, more fragile...a big pain. Hubby learned to stay away from me and rolled his eyes a lot. Then of course, my monthly cycle started changing. I missed a lot. I went 6 or more months once and even thought I had stopped, when it came back for awhile. So be careful. Those times are common and sometimes last a couple of years. It took a couple of years of stopping and starting for me to finally finish.

The first symptom for me was my period stopped completely when l was 38. I really didn't have anything else happen for a few years after that. The l got night sweats and couldn't sleep so that made me cranky during the day.I was moody for a time too. Everyone gos through it differently and at different times in there life. My mother had me a 40 so see its not the same for everyone. The best thing to do is go to the doctor to see if that is what is happening to you.

Well..mine happens to happen couple times in the month..I suppose this is not unnormal for the time since I was so regular before..ha ha..I must say I rather not go to the doctor unless I am unbearable pain as all he will do is prescribe medicine for symptoms that are normal;) I don't have insurance and that would be costly!!:)+

So tru men do not know this answer they may think they do but not! I am going to look this up again myself but I do know you will have hot flashes big time! Also the monthly period well it will be off I never know when or how it will hit me. I have been told that i am pre memenopause. I was told that well My son will be 12 in september so iI have been this way for almost 12 years. I will say to that i will be glad when the time comes when I dont have to worry bout this at all! I will be heavy or I may be light I prefer light! I hate the months I am heavy! Those are the days I wish I could stay in and not have to go anywhere! I have found that gingko biloba helps me. When I find out more I will let you know o.k. and if you find something let me know o.k.

I understand the heavy..I feel so drained!! Especially on the 2 X a month I am so very worn out.. You know it seems that during those times fate would have it that I undergo all kinds of things..I cry more because of that;)+

You might start with peri-menopause...hot flashes, mood swings, insomnia and such..this can last a few years. Once you stop your monthly times, you will be in menopause.....same things as above and maybe feel power surges. Everyone is different. Some women it does not phase others it is a nighmare! Hope this helps.

Mood swings, hot flashes, heavy bleeding. I have been through it all. I told my family that if I go to hell when I die, I will be prepared for the heat because of the hot flashes. Do a search online and you can get all the symptoms and what to do to keep them under control.
