I love this quote from John C Maxwell :
You cannot speak what you do not know,
You cannot share what you do not feel,
You cannot translate what you do not understand,
You cannot transfer what you have not carried,
You cannot give what which you do not possess,
You cannot lead what you have not lived.
Be first what you want to say.
Surely this makes a lot of sense to all of us. This is what life should be portrayed as. Hyprocrisy is wiped out not from outside but rather from within.
Care to share your comments on this?

it is so comforting to know that there are still people like you who thinks and feels like this.it is sad to know that people of today don't have the guts to face the world for what it is but i am still hopeful of our efforts just like john maxwell "leading' in educating and reminding us of the basic way of personal leadership where pride is not the foundation to success but pure common sense in leading other people to live a better life.being a leader to ourselves first before leading others.

We will begin to live life to it's fullest when the right values are in us. We are not born with such values. We build them up along the way. It is having values in life like honor, integrity, determination, positiveness, forgiveness, etc, etc, that have helped me live a meaningful life. May you have the same too.

I hope more members would post new quotes. Someone in the world is looking for answers to circumstances. A quote may be that answer.

Thanks for the wonderful quote. The following passage is extracted from "The Path of Sri Ramana - Part One". Hope it makes sense.
--------------------
A dog went to the cremation ground. It picked up a sharp piece of bone from which the flesh had been completely burnt off and started munching it.
The sharp edges of the bone pierced the dog's mouth in many places and there was bleeding. The dog dropped the bone, but seeing blood smeared all over it, it thought that the blood was coming from the bone because of its ravenous munching. It licked the blood and again started chewing the bone even more ravenously, with the result that there were more wounds in its mouth and more bleeding.
The foolish dog went on repeating the process of dropping the bone, licking the blood and again chewing the bone. Little did that foolish dog realize that in fact the blood came from its own mouth and not from the bone!

The bottom line is: You cannot give what you do not have. I also love John Maxwell. I have read most of his books. I especially have in my heart these lines from him: We meet people either for a reason, a season, or for a lifetime. He's right. People just come and go in our life. But there is really one out there who sticks with us through thick and thin and will be part of our lives for a lifetime. Happy searching!!
