What is your Bedtime Routine??

For your kids if you have one? What time do your kids go to bed? How do you get ready for bed? Do they sleep in a seperate room or with you? Do you read, eat, take a bath, play, watch tv, play games, talk, what usually happens right before bedtime? Usually I start my bedtime routine out by dinner, bath, light play (not much), eat a snack, read a few stories then time to get dressed and they say good nights to everyone. I tuck them in their own beds and hugs and kisses good night :)

Sorry I do not have any kids so I am enjoying happy life. I do every work in right time and enjoy it. Though my brother has the same problem as you. But kids are always good as they are innocent. In India there is a culture of having the kids in same bed. Rarely parents put the kids far from him/her in separate room during night. It differes from country to country.

My son's go to bed at different times, but we start the bath at about 7:00, and put both boys in (one is 2 1/2 the other 8 months) they play for a bit, and I wash the younger one, then my hubby takes over and I take the little one into his room after he says good night to his big brother. I dry him off, change him, he gets a bottle, we read, then brush his teeth and then he's out by 7:30, then the oldest come out, drinks some warm milk, brush teeth, use bathroom, story and then bedtime by 8:00. We stick pretty close to this routine every night. I can't wait until they go to bed at the same time, I think it will cut some things in half, and that will be nice. (:

With my four year old son it usually starts off with a warm bath (including brushing his teeth and so forth), read books (usually from 1-5 depending on how long they are), lights off, sing a few songs and rhymes, prayer, hugs and kisses, then sleep. On occasion I will let him watch a short childrens program and then we do the above routine with fewer books. Unfortunately he doesn't stay in his room all night and often wakes up around 1am and crawls into bed with us. Its taken me a long time to get him to sleep in his own bed and doesn't like to as his room is across the other side of our apartment. Our living arrangements in Samoa somewhat prevented him from having his own room until we moved to USA late August. I'm still working on it though!

Mine daughter's routine has been in place since she was about 5 months old. She's in her own room now, she moved in there at 6 months when she got her cot! Every night she has dinner, followed by a nappy change & then a bottle, after she's done i pick her up & cuddle her until she's just about asleep & then take her in to her room & off to bed she goes. I did try the playing before bed thing but she gets too razzed up & wont go to sleep! I've tried reading to her but for the moment, all she wants to do is eat the books so i've just gone with cuddles before bed & then a kiss when she's in her cot! I'll try the reading again when she's a little older i think!
