Would you be friends with your parents if they weren't your parents?

I probably would. My mom and I have very similar taste in music and movies. We both like discussing politics and art. We also love to go out to eat or get drinks. My dad and I both like to watch basketball games. We also like the same kind of movies and TV shows.

Parents are one thing, friends are another. Given the age gap difference, I think it's pretty hard to be friends.

My mom was a great versatile lady.I would have been a very close friend with her in spite of her being my mom.But I just cannot say that to my Dad.Though I have great respect for him he was not a person to have fun with.He was very serious and planning always.But a good soul.May their souls rest in peace.

No, I don't think so. My Dad is very quiet, hardly says anything, has a bad temper at times and he does work hard though but I don't have much of a relationship with him now. As for my mother, possibly. She is going through something at the moment which I can't comprehend and some days i don't understand what she is thinking, I'm not sure if its menopause or what...but it would be hard to make friends with her at this stage in life. I would always love her as my mother though!

Definitely. My mom is a cool person. She is a lot of fun to be with. My dad unfortunately is deceased but I would have been friends with him also. He loved to joke and carry on. Had a great sense of humor. My stepdad is the same way.

ofcourse i would have been...both my parents are very good and inspite of them being my parents they are still like my good friends...i share my feelings with them..and they understand what i say...so if being my parents they are so good so definitely if they were not my parents they would have been my best friends...
