The world is facing a serious threat of global warming. The green house gases are increasing at a quick rate. The changes in the nature are quite evident in the climatic changes. I think its high time governments and people of all the countries sit together and give a serious thought to the subject. I not given a serious thought and if carbon emission are not decreased the climatic changes may go wild beyond our expectations which would endanger our existance on this planet. I would like all the members to participate in this discussion and come out with innovative ideas to tackle the problem of global warming and carbon emissions.

I could give you several pages of ideas. The main problem would be the amount of resistance you would have in implementing them. Its the big companies who make millions of $ a year that would keep anything from really happening. Oil companies don't want cars with better gas milage because then they'd sell less gas. Companies don't want to make longer lasting items because then you wouldn't have to replace them nearly as often. In order to make any real effort toward change we'd have to break the system. Unfortunantly its the people with the cash that control the system and they like it the way it is. Their only concerned with getting more for themselves not whats good for everyone or the future. The allmighty dollar will be the downfall of of humanity.

Who told you there was global warming? Al Gore, he's a politician. We're you forced to watch his propaganda on Global Warming. People think if we can save the earth we can save ourselves, such little minds we have. You cannot destroy the earth, God made it and he flooded it and it still thrived. How convienent that Global Warming seems to happen in the summer, hmmm, that's like saying there are more motorcycle wrecks in the summer than any other time, duh! there are more motorcycles on the road then. But, hey, don't let me deter you from spending, I'm sorry, wasting your time and money trying to dance to a tune that only politicians are playing. Read Dr. Roy W. Spencer's book "Climate Confusion" and then you'll have both sides of the story. It's a book not a movie so liberals may have to have it read to them cause reading is reserved for those who want to learn and not be force fed. Don't give into peer pressure to do something that won't result in dropping the temperature one degree. The earth is bigger than us, we are not bigger than God.

well we can start by 1) planting trees 2) using lesser electricity by cutting out wastage. 3) use of energy efficient gadgets 4) governments must improve public transportation so that individuals do not use their vehicle which cause more pollution.

This is a major issue the world's scientist are facing nowadays as the glaciers are melting down on the north and south poles of the world. The reason is simple. Humans have cut down the forests and developed industries due to which the temperature of the world is increasing day by day. In future this will result in sea level increasing which can sink some continents too like Australia and UK.

Reducing carbon emissions is impossible on short notice unless governments would spend billions on introducing hybrid engines for everybody within a short period of time. Asides from that, the climate changes won't be prevented by doing that, it IS going to happen so rather than trying to prevent the inevitable I'd say it might be better to rather work on ways to keep our societies up when it would happen as well.
