I buy most of my books at car boot sales, especially chick lit books that i will only want to read once then give to a friend or a charity shop, becuase you can get them cheap there. If a book comes out that i want to buy and not just read then get rid of it but keep it, i will buy it new, usually from a supermarket like Tescos or Asdas, as they sell them fairly cheap there. Books that are harder to find i will buy from e-bay if i can find them there, academic books or books not currently in the charts i would buy from maybe Amazon or the cheapest place they are sold online after doing say a Kelkoo search.

I buy books on Ebay on occasion. Currently I'm relying on http://Paperbackswap.com and http://BookMooch.com to get new books. I've sent and received a few books out and it's a great way to get new books without having to spend too much money.

Internet swap sites are the greatest invention for book lovers. Especially with postage going up again, buying from half.com and amazon is getting pretty expensive. I love that I can get books for no more than the price of postage. I love Paperbackswap, but I'm thinking about taking a look at Book Mooch to increase the chances of finding the books I want.

That's why I signed up with both sites. To increase the chances of finding books that I want and to match others with the books that I have. I've found that BookMooch seems to get the newer titles in more often, but if there are several other people who want it you need to be quick to log in and ask for it. On PaperbackSwap, there's a waiting list and when the book becomes available it goes to the first person on the waiting list and so on down the line.

I like www.half.com, www.bn.com (Barnes and Noble), and occasionally other sites I happen upon while surfing. I like to go to Borders for books in person, but sometimes they are too pricey. I certainly don't buy the CDs there, they about cost your firstborn child.

Mostly on the internet: amazon and half.com. And I'm also a member of paperbackswap. Really love that site. I used to buy a lot of books at yard sales, but I have a hard time in the summer heat, with no car, so I don't do that much any more. Luckily, my neighborhood has a couple of thrift stores, and the library always has used books for sale--paperbacks are a quarter, and hardcovers are $1.00. They also have a freeby box that sometimes has good stuff for me to grab. I did get out last Saturday for our town's big annual yard sale and brought home a nice stack of books. Basically, I'm cheap, and never pay full price for a book if I can get it used.

I usually buy from amazon, my book club, walmart.com, or on occasion actual book stores like Walden's and Barnes & Noble. I am going to try out deepdiscount too in the future. They've got free shipping and great deals on DVD's so next time I'm going to check out their book prices too. I have bought on ebay a couple of times too. I've sold several on ebay and amazon too LOL.

I usually don't buy books that often. For the most part, I just find books at the library and check them out for free. That works out for me since I don't usually read books over again anyway.

I tend to buy most of my books in big bookstores, where i can pick through a great variety of titles and choose my favourites, in this big surfaces the prices are are usually lower, I also like to go to second hand markets and find some bargains, i also use to buy books online, specially on amazon.com however the delivery rates bring the prices up, so I am tending to buy less and less online.

I once bought a book at this place called Abesbooks and it pointed me to a site called www.paperbackshop.co.uk. It gave me a good deal on my first book purchase which was Harry Potter 6. The shipping was VERY cheap, cheaper than Amazon, I think. I tried to search their site if they were doing a pre-order of Harry Potter 7, unfortunately, I don't think they are.
