It's almost the middle of May, by which time, we've usually got some pretty warm weather in England. Not this year! Since last Sunday, it's been frrrrreeeeezing... we're getting weather from the Atlantic... thank you America and Canada... which comprises cold, high winds and torrential rain showers. Now, I like the rain. I like to refresh in the rain, feel it on my face and dance in it, but cripes! This is like January... I'm sitting INdoors with a sweat cardi on! Can you please start sucking in the U.S.A. and Canada, and cease blowing, pleeeeeeeeeease? I mean... it'll be Autumn soon and I'm not getting any sun to turn my skin golden.:-( Tonight, it rained enough to fill all the reservoirs in the country, and that was just outside my window! It was a tropical rain storm. This morning, at about 4.15, a near hurricane got up, lasting about an hour and a half. So much so, that I couldn't sleep for the noise. What's it all about??? Where's our Summer???

The weather is definitely going the erratic way and I do think this is all down to global warming.I remember as a kid,before 1976,we had seasons and the U.K had a temperate,cool climate.Now the weather has gone a bit mad and we don't know from one day to the next if we are going to have spring, summer, autumn or winter lol. I ave both winter and summer clothes ready in my cupboard, along with my anorak and umbrella!!

i agree with you that these weather and temperature going crazy are the ill effects of global warming. even in our country, it gets too hot during the hot days and too cold during the cool days. when it rains, the floods come. it never used to be this way before. the weather, the climate, and the temperature used to be very friendly.

Oh Darkwing, darling, you have amnesia, this IS summer, remember, the place where Woody Allen said he liked the capital city (London) because "you get all four seasons in one day?" What is happening is that you are not looking out the window, summer nips in and zips off again before you look back out again. There is a good product to turn you golden http://www.dove.co.uk/uk_en/uk_en/index.html This is their web site. It is nowhere near as nice as natural sunshine but it does cover well. Remember to bring the yellow mac and matching fisherman's sou wester to the barbecue. With our weather luck and the flying element to food around here, you may very well need them. hugs

Well, Darkwing you don't want much, do you? First you want to find summer, then you want to be prepared for that pair. Both are Geminis as well. I would call that an infinite number of possibilities far to vast to be prepared for. Maybe I should ask for a fall out shelter as well as the wishing well?

I'll need a flippin' suit of armour for the flying objects up there! ha ha ha, and if that's Dove's version of a self-tanning cream, I can't use them! lol. I put some on by mistake for sun cream once at Butlins and ended up bright orange. ha ha ha.

Well ya can send the rain back to me! but we had a cool spot back at that date too and it came from SNOW! yup snow in May in Utah Idaho and Wyoming and we got the cold wind blasting down our way then it jumped from in l;ow 70s to high 90s in a couple of days we cant get a comfortaable spot here in degrees lol and not sure if it is global warming sounds like the ice age coming back
@Darkwing (21583)

To be frank... I think the ice age is fighting global warming for a spot! ha ha ha One minute it's freezing and the next too hot to do anything. I think our cold spell came from your snow, as the wind was very cold and coming off the Atlantic. So next time it snows please, can you close the door to your east! lol. Brightest Blessings.

this is the temperature that you are getting sine the ice caps are melting. have you forgotten how cold it gets once the ice is melting? do not be deceived then that there is no such thing as global warming. remember that the signs of global warming is the climate, weather and temperature going crazy due to the ill effects of it.

I read somewhere that the ozone layer was very slowly healing itself, although it was a very slow process and wouldn't heal properly for hundreds of years. Perhaps it's a natural, retetitive process that we've only recently discoverd with out new technologies. After all, there WAS an ice age, way back, and the world came out of that, so who's to say that there wasn't a hole in the ozone layer previous to that, and nobody made the discovery? It healed, we had the ice age, and then came out of the ice age with global warming. I wonder if anybody considered that before?

Hi Honey, Oh yes that is what they call Global Warming the weather is changing all around the world and they say that the weather will reverse around so that when we expect summer that we shall get winter so maybe the world has started changing already it sure sounds like it to me with you freezing there in the U.K. otherwise I do hope that it gets a bit warmer to warm you up as I know England is extremely cold in the winter time.
@Darkwing (21583)

Lol... it's a deal warmer today. The sun is shining, but last night, there was cloud cover, it was windy and the heavens opened to a deluge of rain, two or three times at least. Maybe now that's over and the sun has found a space in the cloud, our Summer will creep in. I sure hope so. Thank you for your response Kathy... very interesting. Brightest Blessings to you, my dear friend. x

Hello,darkwing,i cannot imagine the weather is like that in UK in this month,I think the weather has became more extreme due to global warming,not only increase the temperature of some countries,it may have change the flow of ocean current so that some of the countries like UK ar experiecing a cold weather even in May. As i could remember,similar thing happen in the US in January when they are supposed to have their winter,but the temperature in New York had been recorded for more than 24 degrees for one week or so.Wasn'it strange?
@Darkwing (21583)
12 May 07
Yes, that certainly was strange, Easy. You'd better believe the weather here. It's a little better today as we're getting sunny intervals, but it's windy and showery... not at all like May, as you say. It's a bit depressing in fact. Thank you for your response and Brightest Blessings.
