He's 83 and tells The Associated Press he picked "just the right time" to say goodbye to the cameras. He says he doesn't "have any regrets about retiring." And he asks, "Isn't that strange?" because he says he "expected to have second thoughts." CBS is running two prime-time specials next week as part of Barker's good-bye. Included is footage of a black-haired Barker cajoling contestants through tricycle races and flapjack-flipping contests. There are also clips of Barker's appearance as a "cowboy Romeo" on "Bonanza" and memorable moments from past "Price Is Right" seasons

I do think it's sad that he is retiring but at 83 I can understand why he would want to. Price is Right is my mom's favorite show. She never misses it. She even has a signed picture of him. It will be fun to see the old footage from all these past years.

I heard about it (not so long ago) It's pretty sad when we see people we like hang up there boots and retire. It's also never quite the same :( ~Joey
