I am a teacher, but I feel that my daughter's teacher is NOT teaching her enough. Let's face it, my friend. Here in the Philippines, most elementary school teachers had taken Education because, as a parents once said, he/she is a bit on the dull side compared with the other siblings who have taken medicine or engineering because they are intelligent. Can you imagine a teacher teaching her pupils that 1/4 is bigger than 1/2? Funny, but it's the truth and sadly, you can't reason with an elementary pupil because "ma'am" says it. When they reach high school (I am a high school teacher), it's so sad that 7/10 enrollees can't read and can't perform basic operations in Math.

sad to hear your story, jean. but im sorry, i cant buy your opinion that mostly of those taking up education are that dull. i may say, the salary bracket of teachers here in our country particularly those teaching in public school. the raeson, most are out focus in teaching. their minds often are to how and what sideline jobs they can have to fill in their budget.
