If you are pregnant, do you want to know your baby's gender?

When I was pregnant, it's not important for me to know my baby's gender. When I had the Ultra sound scan, I even never asked the doctor about it. All my question were whether my baby was healthy, normal and fine. I think it'll be a surprise when I know whether I will have a boy or girl when I'm delivering. Actually I also prepare for boy and girl's toys and clothes.

With my first child, it was really important for my mom to know the gender (she bought all the clothes and stuff). With my second child I really just wanted to know if the baby was healthy and doing fine. My honey wanted to know so the ultrasound tech showed him the important gender part, and for the rest of the pregnancy he had his own little secret. :)

Your mom is really nice, perhaps she can't wait to be a grandmother:)

My first one was her 18th grand child. she has tried to help with all of our first births. I am the youngest of 7 daughters :) nonetheless, she was still excited.

I really wanted to know if my baby was a boy or a girl. I actually thought he was a 'she' before the ultrasound. Really, what is the difference between waiting until the ultrasound or waiting until you have the little on in your arms before you know the gender? It is still a suprise, no matter when you find out what gender baby is, I would say. It is nice to be able to prepare for a boy or girl, too :-) But....sometimes the U/S is wrong, more often if it is a girl....

I have never had a child, but my husband and I have discussed if we ever have a child we don't want to know what it is because we think that is the greatest surprise that there could be.

Yes, and the most important is the baby is healthy and mother is well. The gender of the baby doesn't sound so important.
