I feel bad for this elderly worker at my local deli shop - slow, drops food, etc

So, I was eating with my family today at Jasons Deli and at ours, there is the elderly guy, probably in his late-70s who is the sweetest guy, he really is, really nice and friendly, but gosh the guy just shouldn't be working a fast-paced deli shop! He does a wide array of tasks, as I've seen in the past (food deliverer to homes, ask persons if they need refills, deliver food to tables) but the thing is that he...oh, I don't know how to phrase it...it's like, you're happy that the guy is employed and has a place for an income, but he also walks at about the pace of a turtle, known to drop the trays of food (why do they even have him carrying it)... One time he dropped a tray of food right in front of us as he was trying to deliver it to a table out on the patio outside...it's so embarrassing. I mean, today for example, he brought out a tray to our table that had one plate on it and was going to go back and get the other tray that had 5 PLATES OF FOOD on it - I couldn't see the effect of that incident - I ran up to the counter and said "Don't worry about it man, I got it."ugh...I mean, what do you do? It's sad to see it...but at the same time gets a little annoying, you know - I don't wanna have to worry about him everytime I eat there... what do you all think?
